Free to visit. This Museum is a great place to visit for any age. It has so many interesting items. It is inspiring and reflective regarding are planet. It is a place of learning and awakens also the knowledge we hold within. Great staff and volunteers will help you and guide you. Accessibility at all levels by stairs and lifts. Time to visit, it is a very large museum. You can spend many hours and still feel you have only seen a small amount. Cafe and shop. It's a place where children can interact with the surroundings. It's on the list of amazing places to visit. A few pictures to give you a glimpse of inside the museum.
An impressive place, the museum is enormous and you cannot see everything in a couple of hours. My recommendation is to look at the map and select in advance the exhibits that are most appealing to you. The highly popular dinosaur’s exhibit is located at the ground floor and can be busy. I especially like the Earth Treasure’s gallery with magnificent rocks and gems. You can buy the museum activity book for 5p that includes a map and nice explanations and tasks for kids.
Another wonderful museum in London! A place to spend a whole day! Astonishing architecture, wonderful collections, kids-friendly place, nice souvenir shops. I found the dinosaur and minerals collections especially fascinating! The curators have done their job brilliantly! The part on volcanoes was really helpful and insightful!Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNo
Magnificent collections of fossils and bones of dinosaurs and other animals that is been extinct. They have lots of collections of precious natural stones from around the world and even meteorites. You need a whole day to really explore this area. One of the good thing about this museum is free. No Entrance fee needed. But if you like to give donations depends on you.
We've always wanted to visit the Natural History Museum and finally got the chance to go this year. Based in South Kensington, it was fairly easy to plan travel to the location of the museum. We went on a Friday during the summer holidays and it was pretty busy but we were able to get round the museum with ease and look at all that we wanted to. It was free to enter and we had no waiting time but we were told by friend to book tickets online anyway so you have a slot time for your visit. Our main area of interest was the Jurassic era so seeing real dinosaur bones and preserved fossils was pretty amazing. We even got to see Dippy the Dinosaur that is currently at the museum for a limited time. Lots of great history and facts on earth and wildlife. Really enjoyed it. Its free to enter and all they ask for is donations towards keeping it open. The only downside I personally experienced was that I bought a salad from one of the on site Cafes and about 20 minutes after eating it, it repeated on me and I spent about 15 minutes in the loos being sick. My top tip would be to eat before you attend, take snacks and a bottle of water to stay hydrated. It got pretty hot in some of the rooms so be prepared.
An excellent place for a nature enthusiast. Free entry for all, open all days. I loved their rock section, the dinosaur section is awesome too. Many of the pieces have an interactive interface that makes the experience engaging and fun! Do not forget to carry some snacks as it does take a minimum of an entire day’s time!
Great experience. It's really a great treat for free. Very well kept museum. It's quite an extensive collection of specimens. Vast diverse richly detailed sections and each of them is worth visiting. Needs at least 4 to 5 hours to explore the whole museum nicely.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
We were there with kids, they loved it! Although it is free to visit you have to book your visit, and if it is full they don't take people without a booking, so plan ahead. The dinosaur exposition is great, but very crowded. The part about the earth geology is awesome and very kid friendly. There is a large exposition of gems also. The great hall and the building are also beautiful and impressive!
Enjoyed our day out. Very interesting and educational. A mixture of exhibitions on display from dinosaurs to earthquakes to everyday birds and bugs. There are at least 2 places to eat and prices are not to bad seeing as you don't pay for entry to the museum as it's free, donations are welcome. Would recommend visiting at least once. Easy access for buggies and wheelchairs
This is just awesome place. Don't miss if in London. Great artifacts, collection. The dippy return- nation favourite Dino. Was great. It's free entry better to reserve online. Fun learning . Big museum try to be early Its architecture amazed me it's lovely from in and out. Close to tubes.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
