Paid £8.00 for my order to be shipped via Next Day Delivery and it failed to arrive the next working day. Called to chase up the order and inquire on it's status and the woman was extremely aggressive and continued to speak over me. I asked for a refund and was told it had been processed but not shipped - aka was never going to arrive next working day. Easier way to deal with these things than being rude, which seems to be a recurring theme with this company.

I purchased a collection of Patagonia kit for every eventuality. The trousers which had been sold to me as waterproof were sodden the first time I wore them in the rain. I telephoned to explain and was shouted down by a very aggressive woman who insisted the mistake was mine as she trained all the staff. A pity someone hasn’t trained her in customer relations!

I bought a shirt as a Christmas present from The Mountain Factor's website, it was really good value and delivery was really quick. I'm not quite sure about the size of the shirt so gave them a ring to check the exchange policy. The chap on the phone was really friendly, gave me some good advice and said that if I wasn't sure of any sizes in the future to call them and they'd be more than happy to measure anything. I'm looking forward to visiting the shop next time we're in The Lakes. Thank you.

Excellent service, I bought a Fjallraven anorak online just before Christmas, I received the item within a couple of days of placing the order, unfortunately it was far too big. I phoned The Mountain Factor and was told to send it back and they would ship out the correct size when that size was in stock, being the impatient type I chose a different coat and phoned them again, they had one in my size and colour left. as I said being the impatient type I wanted the jacket before Christmas (it was the 23rd December), the gentleman I spoke to told me they had received the anorak I had returned and that a refund was going through, I mentioned the jacket I wanted and he said they would take it out of stock and place it to one side and would send it out to me after Christmas. Being only 50 odd mile away I said I would drive up on Christmas Eve. I arrived at the shop just after nine, the staff were very polite and welcoming, I started my tale about the return and the chap serving me straight away knew what I was talking about, he went to the back and brought out the jacket, it fit perfectly, he bagged it up and wished me all the best for Christmas and left I a happy bunny. I will definitely be recommending this shop to my friends, I cannot fault The Mountain Factor
