Absolute treasure trove of a store - like stepping into one of those big US thrift stores, but everything's brand new outdoor gear. Insane discounts on really quality brands. Lovely and helpful staff too. Highly recommend!
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Ambleside Cycles at Gaynor's Sports and was thoroughly impressed by the level of service and expertise on offer. The staff, particularly Michael, were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure that I had a great experience. But the real highlight of the visit was Andy's gravel routes. As an avid mountain biker, I was looking for some new trails to explore, and Andy did not disappoint. He recommended some truly amazing routes that offered a perfect mix of challenging terrain and stunning scenery. I can't wait to go back and try some more of his suggestions. Overall, I highly recommend Ambleside Cycles at Gaynor's Sports to any cycling enthusiast. Whether you're in need of some new gear or simply looking for some great routes to explore, this is the place to be. Don't forget to say hello to Michael and Andy while you're there!
I ordered an Exped Ultra 5R LW online on 28-01-23 as it was very competitively priced. Payment was taken immediately. I received an email at 09:41 on 30-01-23 to state the item had been dispatched. Less than 3hrs later at 12:35 I received an email to state the order had been cancelled due to there being no stock. How can you send an email to state an order has been dispatched when it clearly hasn’t because there was ‘no stock’? Gaynor Sports clearly have no idea of their own stock levels and I wouldn’t trust whatever the website states. I have now had to look for an alternative with short notice. I have shopped numerous times with Gaynor Sports over the years, both on-line and in-store. I’m afraid that after this experience, and with so many other good retailers out there, I shall be moving on and taking my custom elsewhere – permanently. Thanks Gaynor Sports for a wonderful customer experience and customer support.
Wanted some assistance with walking boots but staff didn't seem that bothered or helpful. In the end I went and purchased elsewhere. A lot of the stock appeared to be in small sizes and not a lot of choice.
Purchased a rucksack that never arrived due to the delivery service not being able to identify the address, it was returned to sender. I contacted Gaynor Sports email team who sent me an email stating my refund should be received in five days. Never got the refund as stated and wasted alot of time contacting people on legal advice etc for the dodgy service. Really dodgy poor service and wish I never seen the online store. Still working on my refund avoid.
Whilst I understand it is every shop owner's right to make decisions they see fit for their business, it is very disappointing that Gaynor's do not allow dogs, unless carried pity the customer with a St Bernard. The two guys on the door looked embarrassed turning us away. Wooly hats off to Rohan who made us most welcome and also to Blacks, where we purchased a top layer duvet jacket and a mid layer duvet jacket by Mountain Equipment. Come on Gaynor, shape up.
The only shop in the whole of the lake district where you can’t take your dog inside. Ridiculous! Everyone outside with their dog taking turns to go in. We found a beautiful coat in there but bought it from a different shop on principle
Hubby’s favourite shop when we visit Ambleside. Even when there is no reason to spend , we just drop by just in case he misses a good bargain. He can always make up a reason why he needs anymore items.
Great service great price. Bought Helly Odin 9 jacket, fjord blue. Colour of actual jacket very different to photo. Not as bright in real life.
