The Morgan Arms

Story

The Morgan Arms is situated close to Mile End Tube and a short stroll to Victoria Park. This quirky pub is on a quiet, tree-lined street, just off swanky Tredegar Square. The Morgan has a beautiful carved wooden bar, which overlooks a wonderful array of books and vast stained glass windows. It was the winner of the Evening Standard Pub of the Year in 2005 and has since become an institution for the locals.

What really makes The Morgan stand out from other pubs in the area is the commitment to deliver fabulous food, fine wine & real ales in a friendly environment. The food comprises mainly of British favourites, along with daily specials. The kitchen is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Be sure to lap up our famous Sunday roast, which is considered to be the best in Bow.

While atmosphere was nice and relaxing, sadly the Sunday roast it was on the average side: roasted potatoes too dry and almost undercooked, not enough of veggies to the ratio of beef, Horseradish source was very watered and diluted, pudding sides were already burned. And cocktail wasn't properly mixed up to create a smooth overall flavour. Service felt that they were understaffed and we had to wait for a while to get their attention . Hence, considering you pay a 12.5% service charge on top of it - the overall experience comes down to an average rating.
I came here with some friends to a new jazz night we had heard about, and had such a lovely and memorable evening. The music was great, and service from staff was so friendly and attentive which really made the experience. Although we had already eaten, I checked out the menu and thought it looked delicious and will definitely come back to try it. The pub is also so tastefully decorated, neat, clean and made us feel welcome and want to come back for sure. Really recommend this pub and can’t wait for our next visit.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Morgan Arms, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The menu offered a wide range of dishes that catered to various tastes, from hearty pub classics to innovative modern plates. I opted for the chicken and mushroom pie, which was perfectly seasoned and accompanied by a generous serving of creamy mashed potatoes and cabbage. My friends tired the fish and chips and the beef burger, both of which received high praise. But what truly set The Morgan Arms apart was the friendliness of the staff. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles from the two Charlies and a genuine eagerness to make our visit enjoyable. They were attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations and ensuring our glasses were never empty. Even during the busier times of the evening, the staff maintained their professionalism and cheerfulness, which significantly enhanced our dining experience. Overall, my visit to The Morgan Arms was overwhelmingly positive. The combination of delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service made it a memorable night out. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a fantastic meal in a friendly and inviting setting. It's clear that The Morgan Arms values its patrons and strives to provide an excellent dining experience, and they have certainly succeeded in doing so. We shall be back :

I visited with my brother and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere and vibe were fantastic, creating a perfect setting for our evening. The food was delicious, with a variety of options that exceeded our expectations. The cocktails were expertly crafted and added a special touch to our experience. The service was prompt and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The bathroom was clean and tidy, which is always appreciated. Overall, it was a great visit, and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend this place for a great night out!
I visited for the first time for dinner with my family and we had the best time. The atmosphere with the old school music and candles really sets this place apart from the other pubs around here. The food is delicious, my dad in particular loved the pie!! The staff are really friendly and attentive, our waitress Ellie really made the evening special. They’re really dog friendly too which is a big bonus, will definitely be recommending this place to my friends!!

One of my favourite pubs in East London! The food and atmosphere are always 10/10 here, it’s such a cosy and beautiful setting. The staff are always wonderful too, making the experience even better. Sam is particularly great, making the Tuesday night pub quiz a lot of fun.Food: 5/5
The Morgan Arms hosted our wedding reception last weekend and we were completely blown away by the team, food and level of service. Charlie and Khaitee were a joy to liaise with in the lead up to the wedding and catered to all our requests before and on the day. Everything went perfectly there isn’t a single thing we could fault!, the day ran like clockwork!! So many of our guests commented on how delicious the food was - there was plenty to go round and not a single person left hungry! We can’t thank the whole team enough for the huge amount of time and effort they put in to make the day so special. Thank you all SO much!!
We had a great family meal at The Morgan Arms. The food and service were excellent. We were quite a big group and Jacob was really helpful and patient with us. Charlie and all of the staff were great too. Really nice atmosphere. Thank you.Food: 5/5
