Interesting pub on Mile End Road that had a bit of a gastro feel to it. Cricket was on TV when we visited on a Sunday afternoon, so expect sports. Although the staff were friendly, the pub just doesn't feel 'inviting' too much, and not enough character.
Went in to watch football and have a few pints, but the reviews about harassment from locals and bar staff etc are 100% true. Place was packed when stepped inside so was thinking should we stand and stay here or try and find somewhere with seats, but genuinely and I mean pretty literally after 2 seconds of standing without ordering something a local and a barman started screaming and repeatedly asking what we were gonna order in an aggressive tone and all like you can’t come to a pub and not order a drink. Mate shut up I’ve been here for barely 3 seconds. Better places about than this pathetic excuse for a pub. I’d recommend the rusty bike right next to Mike end station. Lovely staff, food and drinks there.
Too many of these pubs have gone to the wall so respect that it’s still open. It’s had a fresh paint job and range of non-premium beers to cater to the student /locals crowd - if you a Drinker of Foster, 1664 or Carlsberg, you’re in luck.
A great place to watch football on TV , you sure to strike up a conversation with someone over a drink, we use this pub after we have presented our shows on Barts Radio for The Saint Bartholemew's Group of Hospitals in East and North East London on Saturdays
10/10 Guinness. God bless Mary's hands
My kind of place. Small and friendly with lovely staff. Made to feel really welcome and the only place in London I found John Smith's. Made a northerner very very happy.
Very unwelcoming pub, I assume it's good for the 3 locals who can fit in the place. Every move I made was being criticised by the bar staff and patrons in a very rude way, after deciding to finish my drink outside I'm convinced I won't be returning.
Great stop off pub on way to West Ham
I went in for a pint or two to watch some footie.I end up getting harassed by a confrontational local, infront of staff whom seemed to ignore it. Hostile and expensive wouldn't recommend it.
Decent wee pub just popped in for quick pint
