Worst Guinness experience in east London. Poured just over half of what looked like flat Guinness and then proceeded to pour what looked the run off of the line we were there not long after opening into the glass when he thought we weren’t looking. He also looked unwashed and wasn’t very pleasant. Pints seemed overpriced also but may have just overcharged as not regulars. In terms of decor, check out the burnt out extractor fan on the ceiling in the ladies toilet cubicle, simply stunning, I wonder what state their other appliances are in. I won’t be going back, a disgrace to London pubs.
If i could give less than 1 star then i would. Land lord is a disgrace to the hospitality industry, used the dregs of a flat pint of guiness sat next to the tap, and filled my glass up with a third of it when he thought i wasnt watching. Tasted foul. I have read other reviews and it seems its a common occurrence. Absolute disgrace of a landlord. I can understand rising costs of running a pub, but you dont get repeat customers by doing that. I drank half and just had to walk away biting my tongue
Far and away the most rotten pint of stout I’ve ever seen/tasted. And at £6.00 a pint with a lousy atmosphere, the closest I’ve been to mugged in London. Avoid.
Perfect East End Pub! Great atmosphere forth watch sports or having a a pint and chat with the owner, Barry!
Cool decor, nice pub garden and good Guinness. Great for the football. We got ripped off when we went, the Landlord thought we were tourists so charged us the earth for a couple of drinks and some nuts. Reading the reviews just now it's put me off coming back!
A pub known for its darts matches and when football is on TV its shown on a large screen and two smaller ones. And finally Baz always pulls you up if in conversation your facts are incorrect.
Didn’t know Guinness could be fizzy. Rank.
Cosy place, if you're looking for a typical east end pub this place won't disappoint!
Having been to the Young Prince a number of times and enjoyed the classic pub atmosphere and decor, I was both saddened and shocked to hear the landlord openly shout an an awful racist term at the TV when a football game was on. Not only did no one seem to care about this, but when confronted the landlord continued to insult the player in question in vile language Marcus Rashford by the way, how can anyone put dirt on his name.... Not one bit of remorse from a man who is supposed to represent a pub at the center of the multi-cultural roman road community. I will never return to the pub and I implore all others with a sense of decency to do the same. Its one thing for friends of mine to feel unwelcome and judged at this pub, its another to see that behind that the stares lies deep rooted prejudices and hatred. Shame on Baz and all those who condone this behavior.
Mixed feelings really. Absolutely gorgeous place, full of character, great atmosphere. But the landlord chops the head out of beer, pours beers off, mixes the old and new one in glass, and, quite frankly, it was the worst tasting Guinness of the day we had a bit of a pub crawl on Sunday, and this was our third stop. Definitely the worst pint - tasting watery and sour.
