The Moat House in Annan (Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland) is the ultimate in luxury disabled friendly self-catering holiday cottage accommodation.

Story

Everything a family with disabled members or friends might need away from home...

We've tried to make The Moat House the perfect place for you to take that well deserved holiday that you just can't find owing to the lack of facilities that are essential for you.

That's why we've made a unique, spacious holiday home in an historic building (c. 19th Century) in interesting location with great facilities and a lovely 'look and feel'.

Designed with disabled people in mind, whether you or a family member or friend who uses a wheelchair, has difficulty getting upstairs or needs assistance with everyday tasks - The Moat House is uniquely equipped to assist!

Of course, the able-bodied are just as welcome to enjoy a holiday here too!

At a Glance:

~ Level access to the whole of the house (with the exception of Bedroom 3)
~ Lift between ground and first floors
~ Floors suitable for powered wheelchairs throughout (except Bedroom 2 & 3)

Ground Floor:

~ A spacious, welcoming reception hall, with space for parking/charging mobility scooter and separate cloakroom
~ Kitchen/Dining Room - with wheelchair accessible Ovens/Cupboards/Fridge, rise & fall sink and hob and large wheelchair accessible dining table.
~ Lounge – equipped with TV and Hi-Fi
~ Bedroom 1 - Twin contouring beds (1 Rise & Fall) & ceiling track hoist
~ Bathroom 1 - Closomat Toilet, Rise & Fall Shower/Nursing Bench, ceiling track hoist, level access shower area and a choice of childs/adults shower chairs

First Floor:

~ Bedroom 2 - Configurable Beds - Twin Beds or Super King size Bed (unfortunately this room is not suitable for powered wheelchair users)
~ Bedroom 3 - Kingsize Bed with additional Double sofa bed (unfortunately this room is not wheelchair accessible - 3 step access)
~ Bedroom 4 - Configurable Beds - Single Bed with optional pull out 2nd single
~ Bedroom 5 - Double contouring bed & ceiling track hoist
~ Bathroom 2 - High & Low sinks, accessible toilet, level access shower area with shower seat

Pets

Dogs are welcome – we just charge an additional £30 flat fee per dog per stay for additional cleaning.

Garden

We are sorry, at this time the garden is not landscaped nor particularly accessible to wheelchairs – we hope to remedy this in the coming year with Patio area, path to Castle Park, Sensory Garden and BBQ area.

Smoking

The house is no smoking throughout – please smoke outside and dispose of litter appropriately.
