This was an outstanding find. The room was comfortable and well set out. There were also plenty of lounge chairs in the open area between the bar and dining room affording a gradually changing view of the tides in the firth. Breakfast was excellent with a good range of choices all well presented by cheerful and efficient staff. Evening meals were also available. The choice was varied, interesting and well presented.
This was a lovely stay. We had dinner on 3 nights, and each was excellent quality, and served by helpful, friendly, and efficient staff. We thought it was very good value. Breakfast, similarly, was of a high standard, including haggis, smoked haddock, smoked salmon. The room was very well appointed and comfortable with a great view across the Firth. The hotel is well placed to get around the area. Highly recommended.
Staff were so friendly and attentive. The food was very good, my only gripe is like alot of places you get a steak meal and all you get is the steak and chips, no veg, no onion rings etc you have to add them as side dishes and each one on this occasion was £5 which for a bowl of broccoli was crazy in my opinion. A meal should be a meal not a half empty plate. It was all lovely for our special occasion night out and yes I would go again as what we had was very good and staff are lovely. The place is beautiful and very well set out.
Lovely traditional hotel with friendly local staff. Nice sitting and dining areas with a large function room. Great selection to choose from on the menu. Fabulous location overlooking the Solway Firth. Great place for a level promenade walk with beautiful views. Lovely traditional little houses and bungalows close by. Highly recommend it Walkability: Great places to walk locally.
Love going to this place! We frequently call in for a coffee when walking our dogs on the beach. We also go for Sunday lunch....everytime we go we love it. The service is excellent, the coffee to die for and the food is absolutely wonderful. Its all about quality and taste which you certainly get! Perfectly cooked and well presented and also great value for money. The surroundings and atmosphere just tops it off with beautiful views too! Well done to all of you; you do a fantastic job. Keep it up! We will of course be back very soon.
Staying at a cottage in Powfoot we dined at the hotel for Sunday lunch and 2 evenings. Wonderful place with great customer service. I could list many things they do well, but as a small example - a couple were waiting to be seated, a waitress was carrying plates back to the kitchen and noticed them, in most establishments there would have been a nod and “be with you shortly” as she went into the kitchen. The girl here put her plates down immediately and went to seat the couple. It was that kind of place. People matter and they do people well. The food and cocktails matched the service. Thank you for a lovely experience.
Went for lunch with my sister and baby nephew. Food was delicious! Staff were so friendly and accommodating especially when the baby want feeding too, no problem giving us hot water for his milk or letting us stay a little longer. Highly recommended!Location: 5/5
Lovely location, and it's not too tricky to get to. We had dinner and breakfast, which were both delicious! A nice wee walk along the beachfront, too. Peaceful getaway with stunning views. Recommended!Rooms: 5/5

Just spent 1 night at this lovely Hotel, the room we had was everything we needed, room lovely and clean, but could have done with an extra blanket on the bed, a wee bit of a problem with the coffee maker, but was quickly sorted out and replaced with a kettle, thankyou. Great breakfast, will be back, just a lovely Hotel, with amazing views.
