At 85% we're one of the highest rated AA 2 star hotels in the country, and have held 2 rosettes for coming up to 10 years. With only 23 bedrooms, and a very successful food operation, we're more like a restaurant with rooms.

Went here for a few drinks on a Sunday afternoon after a walk. Very nice country pub in a lovely village with plenty of parking. Nice selection of German lager and local ales. Quite a big Gin menu as well. Food looked good coming out of the kitchen, the Sunday roast sounded popular as they had run out by 3pm.  Not the cheapest pint in the area but not the most expensive however, certainly worth it for the nice setting.

First time dined here on a busy Sunday afternoon. Excellent menu and superb food. The steak and kidney pudding is the best I've ever tasted. High calibre establishment and well worth it. Thanks for the fantastic service.

Have eaten here on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. Food of a high quality and served by attentive and efficient staff in a homely comfortable atmosphere. There's also a good selection  of real ales.

Booked for a birthday treat for my boyfriend. We got a drink from the bar as we were early. quite busy and no were to sit so stood at the bar until our table was ready. I was disappointed we were seated in the bar area and not in the restaurant. we were hemmed in and could hear the next tables conversation.  They told us they had overbooked.  I wish they had rang and told us . long wait for our meals although was beautifully cooked.  just felt I had a bar meal for a tenner when really it was meant to be something special.

Lovely dinner out, fantastic service. Quiet and cozy ambiance. Can't criticise the food, everything was amazing. Quite spicy guacamole however! Didn't get chance to try dessert, they can more than fill you up with two courses! Varied gin selection includes rhubarb/ginger and quince which was nice.
