This one is an institution in Stockport! If you love a good old traditional pub - this one's for you. I loved the interior inside, it has a few nice rooms with a few tables and comfy benches. Also a side room with a booth which gives the pub this cosy and warm feeling. Being a Sam Smith's pub they only sell Tadcaster brewery's beers - bitter on cask and few lagers on keg also quite a few bottled beers. What else can you ask for? Bar staff were nice and friendly especially if you are a City fan. The only downside of the place is like most Sam Smith's pubs you can't pay on card so make sure you bring some CASH with you. Overall it is a great pub and I'm definitely coming back.
Sam Smiths, I need no convincing. Formerly Turners Vaults. A quirky charachterful pub, with nice friendly banterish staff too. Usual Sam Smiths rules, no mobile use, no music, no games machines which for me makes it a proper pub, talk to each other. Well worth a visit. Got told off for using the camera, nicely
Really nice warm cosy feel, separate drinking compartments open fires ...good selection of ales spirits and very cheap , will come again .
Any one no where are and Angie went from turners vault. From whiworth RochdaleFood: 5/5
The only thing interesting about this place was the long walk up the stairs for the toilet
Very warm and friendly pub. No mobile phones allowed which is brilliant. My kidsadults were with us and chatted away more than I've seen before. Pleasant staff, nice fire, very clean and cosy. A little gem.
Have visited this place on a number of occasions. It is a Sam Smith's pub so they only sell their own brewed beers but the prices are very reasonable. Friendly staff and I guess that mainly older patrons like myself will enjoy visits to this pub. There is an open fire during the cold weather. A traditional pub that you can access from the main street by descending steps.
It was cheap enough and plenty of character but we didn't feel overly welcome
Great little pub with bags of character and history behind it. Owned by Samuel Smith brewery, the interior was sympathetically restored some years ago to show off the pub as it originally was. Known to many as Turner's Vaults, the place is packed with interesting characters. Long and narrow, it has too rooms beyond the front bar room: a panelled news room, then a plush lounge with skylight beyond that. Only sells one cask ale, but turnover is high. Highly recommended.
My family were visiting and I took them to what used to be a quaint old pub. The Landlady was so drunk that she couldn't stand up. Her language was disgusting. She was loud, abusive and embarrassing. I was afraid to walk past her. This dreadful experience cost £20. So sad that a piece of history is in this womans hands
