"The Duke of Cambridge is Britain's first organic pub/restaurant, based in Islington. Certified by the Soil Association since 1998 and still going strong. The Duke takes transparency in the supply chain very seriously, and has well established relationships with independent suppliers who use the best organic and sustainable methods available. The menu champions veg, making it delicious and prominent to give real choice to customers, as we all know a plant based diet is better for us and the planet.Part of The Culpeper Family Hospitality Group, with three pub siblings across East and North London."

This pub gives you a warm feeling the minute you walk in. The staff were very friendly and quick to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your meal. The Sunday roast was very tasty and filling. We had the lamb and fish roast, which I thought made a nice change from the standard roasts you get in most places. All food was organic and the pub claims to be the first organic pub in the UK.
One of London's best pubs for food, service and setting one of the rare pubs where it is actually safe to order a cocktail. I've recently been twice for lunch, on a Saturday and on a Sunday. The quality of the organic food sets it apart from other pubs. Purists may bemoan the lack of a Yorkshire pudding with the Sunday roast - I did not notice until everything was eaten. The lamb shank in red wine sauce was so amazing and the variety of veg served along with the roast left nothing to be desired. A great spot to meet friends, celebrate an occasion or for a date. Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian mains including a Sunday roast option and starters e.g. burrata Kid-friendliness: High chairs, families, east for all of this
The Duke of Cambridge, Hoxton. A fine place with a chameleon atmosphere. Beer is fine, both cask and keg. However, not to my taste. I don't need hops for flavour! The people here are lovely, both customers and staff. Have a great time here.
The place has a great atmosphere. Unfortunately the food was worth only 3.5 stars as the main hero of the dish was overcooked. The meat was in form of little slices, it simply looked and tasted like remains. 0.5 stars down for the service charge. It was good... but not great, not great at all.
I just had a beer there on a calm Monday afternoon , absolutely loved it . The venue decoration- as I like . Vinyl playing . Quiet street . Would love to go back to try the food as well . Pet friendly . Kids friendly .
Really overpriced. I got the vegetarian option and being charged £20+ for essentially a plate of poorly seasoned root vegetables is not okay. Plus the Yorkshire puddings cost extra - what?!? Sorry, not sure if I went on an off day, but from my experience this place has potential but the price point is just a bit absurd for what you get
Outrageous ! Visited this pub at around nine o’clock in the evening for a post meal drink or two, and were pleased to find an empty table to sit. Just as I was about to go to the bar to get the drinks a woman approached and said there’s only one person behind the bar and it’s too small for people to stand around waiting to order so please sit down and order your drinks by table service. We were fine with this but I still needed to check with the person standing behind the “empty bar” which beers they stocked that were alcohol free before returning to my seat to order our drinks. The beer was so so but the bottle of wine, with no label, was apparently horrible. We decided to leave after one round and asked for the bill. I was as sober as a judge when it arrived but felt bandy legged when I saw how much it came to. I have been rushed once or twice on holiday but never in my own backyard of Islington. The Cambridge Arms used to be a reasonable public house but it’s become more like a ‘clip house’ in 1960s Soho. I wouldn’t recommend this inn to anyone I like or dislike, not even Matt Hancock..We paid the bill and left but couldn’t stop ourselves singing: “..Charge’em for the lice,
Extra for the mice
,Two per cent for looking in the mirror twice,
Here a little slice..” £4.49 service charges ????
The food is out of this world, the service super nice and the whole place feels like home. I’m not vegetarian but love that they always have lots of veggie options, that each tastes better than the other. I wish I could do this at home And if we have meat I know it’s top quality. Great atmosphere whether you’re with friends or family. They are also engaged in the community and raise money for charity, another reason to go back again and again. Love this pub, definitely in my top favourites. See you soon!
Somehow I'd never heard of The Duke of Cambridge, then by chance we wandered past and had an unprecedentedly wonderful time. So, I'm going to take all the credit for discovering it. What a bloody great pub. The food was half way between fancy and good old, homely sticks to your ribs bits. Staff were warm, engaging and attentive. The ale was belting. Well done me.
Finally tried the UK's first organic pub, have been wanted to visit for ages since I cycle past it almost every day. I love the space, very cute and nice vibes. Staff is nice and friendly. The food was delicious, very interesting flavours, and so was the wine. I now want to go back to try their roast!
