The Longwood
"The Longwood in Fazeley is a lovely local with a lush beer garden. And the unique pub atmosphere British boozers are famous for. Pop in for a swift pint and swap banter our friendly bar staff anytime. Everyone who comes in gets just what they fancy. We’ve got a huge drinks selection. Check out our range of cask ales, craft beers and ciders. Our wine list is well balanced, and we do a nice bottle of fizz. Add cocktails, spirits, party drinks, and tasty softies to the mix and you’ve got the mother of all bars. Over on the food menu you’ll find generous portions of traditional British pub food, and modern classics all served between 12 - 9 every single day of the week. You can’t beat our burgers, grills, chicken, and sharers for value."

Bar man was very welcoming as soon as we entered the pub. Had a good laugh whilst he made us a cocktail pitcher. The chef came around personally to all customers to ensure their meals were to a high standard. Food and drinks were a great price too plus excellent quick service.
The burger was real well done it was like it had been cooked and left under a lamp the chips were crispy and a 40 minutes wait my husband was a bit better was going to have dessert but wasn't sure how long I would have to wait? Felt a bit uncomfortable as somebody from the bar kept coming looking to see if there was empty tables. He wasn't given a time the waiting time was on a +side he said the beer was good
Just had a fantastic meal with my son on his Birthday. Food was excellent and to make it better the young barmaid was super very Friendly very welcoming and attended to all or needs. I will be returning very soon .And to the young lady who looked after us I hope will will meet again in the future well done
Cannot praise the team at Longwood highly enough. From the ease of booking to follow up emails and texts reminding and welcoming us to our visit. Shown to table upon arrival and before the time booked we were left to peruse the menus. Smooth ordering at the bar, tab kept open for further drinks and other foods. Were told, with much apologies our food would be apprx half hour, none of us fussed as it allowed time for conversation and a wait of that time confirmed to us our food was going to be freshly cooked and not a pre-frozen microwave meal. Meals were bought out to our table for all members of our party at the same time so no-one was left waiting. Staff were professional but friendly, all meals were hot and cooked to perfection, all members were happy and full at the end of it. Ambiance was just right, beautifully clean, warm and welcoming. All staff from the Manager onwards obviously work together as an excellent team, most relaxing with no indication they were waiting for us to leave even though the restaurant area was busy and full. Vouchers for 30% off mains was an added bonus, smooth transaction for payment of the final total. We are already discussing our return as a widely spread geographically family . The Longwood Manager and their team are a true asset to the company. Loved that themed evening promotions were well advertised and described and of great interest to us all, meaning we will more than happily return in the future and all left with smiles on our faces. Thank you all.
Food was alright, decent priced for what we had. Took a while to come..staff could be a bit more attentive and a bit more happier all seemed like they didn’t want to be there apart from the one guy behind the bar bald and tall he was very happy and friendly
Really disappointed! We used to visit the longwood regularly pre covid. Tonight was the first visit for a few years and I can’t believe how downhill it has gone. We ordered food at 7pm, at time of ordering we were told 35/40 mins which was no problem. At an hour we started to wonder what was going on however clearly an issue as other people were going up questioning where food was. There was only half a pub of seated tables so not exactly ‘busy’ in comparison to how I’ve seen it before. In the end we waited over an hour and a half. Staff seemed blunt and a ‘cba’ sort of attitude. A half hearted apology - no offer of a free drink. We also over heard the table next to us having to report hairs in their food which they said they were taking photos of. So when our food eventually came, you’d expect hot food…nope, Luke warm at the best but given the staff were avoiding people we had gone past wishing to complain knowing it wasn’t going to go anywhere further. No table check either. I think it seemed fairly obvious that staff knew service was poor and we’re doing their best to hide out the back on their mobiles to avoid dealing with the issues. Such a shame but no I will not be returning after such a shambles, nor will I be recommending this place again. I believe it may have recently changed hands - shame it’s gone so downhill.
Great for a drink but please, please avoid going if you want food!!! We used to be regulars for several years and would often spend a good amount of money each weekly visit for a family of 5 every weekend eating there. Then after Covid and when things started to resume back to normal, there has been an influx of stand-in managers that seem to only stay for a month or two each time... so inevitably it has gone down hill. Since this, every time we have been for food it has been absolutely terrible, and when I say terrible, I mean... your family can't physically finish their meals; it was like your favorite ordered meal you choose each week was completely different every time, like they had ran out of ingredients or they had to use something as a substitute to get away with serving it and it was usually served cold. After our last bad experience in Jan 23 where we waited nearly 2 hours and still never got our orders, we thought we would give it one last chance tonight as it is our local 3rd March 23. Hoping with the new stand-in management, it had finally changed. We waited over a hour and when our food finally arrived my 3 young children couldn't finish their meals as they were that bad. My wife's steak was raw inside and unfortunately the clad cold, the cowboy burger which looked like skinny thin fast food patties and tasted like they had been deep fryed in fat. We even watched other people complaining on near tables thinking at least we are not the only ones. It’s such a shame as it could be a really great place to eat again but the food is terrible. We wont be eating there again.
Staff very friendly and inviting, menu and prices great…. Food great too! Warm and welcoming environment Chef and bar guy were both great guys
Some starters are not available and the wait, good lord. 45 minutes wait for starters and then 30 minutes on top for mains. Forget desserts otherwise we will be here till 5 pm when we arrived around 1 pm. Also after waiting 45 mins we were told that one of the paid-for starters was not available and I had ALREADY PAID! The food, when it did come, was lukewarm but it did taste nice and the drinks were okay. Staff stood around having a chat and it is not busy today despite being a Saturday. Less time chatting and more time getting food out the gate. Will not be returning. Extra edit: Also got one of the food orders wrong.
I had a tuna baguette, which was great value for money . Hubby had fish and chips he enjoyed, but bread was frozen still around edges .Only about 15 people in and had quite a wait ,
