We have been to the Green Man 4-5 times and each time we leave having thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Food is always cooked to perfection We have our favourite Chicken, bacon and brie pie. Definitely recommend this place for a date night, anniversary meal. We have yet to try the Sunday Lunch but im sure it will be just as good
Very disappointed with quality of food. The olives were bland and soft. The fishcakes were flat, mainly tasted of potato and overdone breadcrumbs, the salad was soggy and the dressing...if indeed there was any, had no flavour. I have been dining at The Green man for many years and have noticed the quality of food has definitely gone down and the prices up. I have no problem in paying premium price when dining out providing i receive premium food unfortunately this was not the case..the quality of fishcakes was definitely not worth £14.95! Even though this is my local unfortunately i shall not be dining here again.
We had a Sunday roast today and had such a lovely meal. The place was warm cosy and pleasant and the service was excellent. Holly really looked after us and I can’t believe it was her first day.. fabulous service and fabulous food…. Will be back soon
Came for Sunday roast and didn't leave disappointed. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Food was excellently presented and tasted fantastic!
Went here with my partner and what a pleasant place to go for some food and drinks nice cosy lil pub with welcoming, attentive staff food was lovely fresh and tasteful. Also very clean and modern. Would definitely go back if in the area.
Great food in a lovely place. I had a dirty burger which was really tasty and presented well. The option of a mini dessert with a coffee is a good idea if you're feeling a bit full after your main course. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.Food: 5/5
A gorgeous little place! Drove up from Bristol to collect a friend who had been working there as a relief chef. The staff were really pleasant and talkative, friendly and approachable. The locals also welcomed us warmly, which was a pleasant surprise as the place is in a fairly rural setting. Lovely and warm with a log fire blazing and nice décor which was easy on the eye. Ample parking. Good menu. Disabled access. What's not to like?! Kid-friendliness: There was a party of mixed ages including children who were well catered for.
Went there for NYE. They didn’t offer a normal menu, only a set menu no mention of this on booking a table through their site. On arrival, there was about 6 mains to choose from. 1 was completely out, another I heard from the table next to us only had 2 portions left This is a specifically printed NYE menu and we arrived at 6pm!. We were very close to leaving but as we were unlikely to get a table last min anywhere else we stayed. I had the vegan main which came with some veggies. They tasted to me like they had been cooked or mixed with oil that was used for bacon somewhere along the way. The waitress then waited until we finished our mains to come and tell me their new vegan ice cream I had chosen and specifically checked with her at the time of ordering was vegan, actually isn’t vegan so I ordered a coconut sorbet to go with the disgusting apple crumble they served. Of course she brought me a raspberry sorbet instead and had to go exchange it. The price for this awful meal was £50 a person excluding drinks! The whole thing was a bit of a shambles. It was very basic pub food and should have been no more than £25. I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while but really disappointed. Seems like they try to be a gastro pub, don’t know how to deliver the service / quality of food needed, but happy to take the money. I won’t be returning.
We were sat in the far corner of the pub by the fire doors. Unfortunately as the sun came round it shone straight into my face and there were no blinds or curtains to pull across so we had to leave before ordering dessert. Meal wise I had the lamb which was really nice, my husband has the beef and cheddar pie which was nice except having almost a dozen onions that he had to leave. I am sure we will be back again in the future just hope for a different table or time of day.
Our order did not arrive for over an hour despite others meals been brought out. No one came to explain what was happening. We had a 2 year old in our party who needed her food. Food was OK when eventually arrived. Very poor customer relations. We were compensated but better care needed.
