There are plenty of great reasons to come to this lovely, little first-floor restaurant: friendly staff, interesting menu especially the choice of seafood, great food, a range of drinks including cocktails, good value, lovely environment. Highly recommended!
Sometimes one is fortunate enough to stumble upon a hidden gem. That is the case for me in Sidmouth when I found The Loft. I could not get an evening booking so decided to have lunch with a friend instead. Welcoming, great service with staff who are both pleasant and helpful. The seafood platter to share followed by a classic steak burger was my choice. The fresh ingredients, care in preparation and simple practical presentation shouts for the quality of the food here. Now The Loft is permanently on my Devon dining list. Elevated dining room on the first floor gives some detachment from the bustling street scene. The prices are fair, space is abundant and the ambience is relaxed and informal.......I would classify this as the "smart casual" of dining really. It's a small venue with limited covers, so book ahead. I hope other venues in the West Country take some time to emulate how The Loft looks after its customers too..... it's how things should be done. Keep up the great work.
First time visit to the Loft. Absolutely brilliant. Great menu, fantastic food all prepared from scratch and reasonably priced. As restaurants go this is a hidden gem. Loved the decor and the staff did a great job. Will definitely return.
First time visit to The Loft this evening. It has a really nice ambience, the staff were friendly and the service was good. An interesting menu with something for everyone and the fish specials looked fab. I had the Prawn & Crab Linguine which was really good. Overall a really nice meal, we'll definitely revisit.
Really Disappointed! We came after looking on the menu online which had lots of choices. However when we arrived there were only 8 choices of main! 2 burgers, 2 salads, 2 pastas a chicken option and a fish option We asked for a pina colada and the waitress turned around and said ‘I can’t do that because it needs blending and stuff’. The cocktails we did order were dominated by mixer and tasted weak. Really disappointed with our experience.
A rare find which we were delighted with,an evening meal which was faultless coupled with warm friendly staff, certainly recommend this restaurant. Only down side it's up stairs and I didn't see any lift for disabled access,but there could be an alternative route I'm not aware off.Food: 5/5
Really nice restaurant, really nice staff and atmosphere. Very generous portions so go there hungry.
Great restaurant above the shops in the centre of town. Style is somewhat bohemian with local art on display. Good variety of homemade foods and local fish specialties. Service is friendly. Closes at 9pm

Yum absolutely fabulous loft breakfasts, the full and not so full. The best toast and butter outside home . A really must to visit. +++++ staff so helpful and friendly +++++
