We had to wait a bit because we didn't have reservation and the place was very crowded. The staff was friendly and very professional, hard workers, nonstop during the whole time! Fresh food and good portions. We had a great lunch. Veggie options available! Definitely recommend!

Had the all day breakfast 11.5 with friend. The mushroom was particularly delicious. It was odd though the all day breakfast had to baked beans. After meal we aked and the waitress said they removed it because some customers don't like beans. Next time we can tell them to add the beans to the breakfast.  Also be aware that it is often fully booked. We had dinner at around 5pm but tables were fully booked for after 6:45. Make sure to book your tables  Parking: Outdoor carpark

We had a good great early evening Sunday roast here. Indeed we couldn't find fault with anything and that's unusual especially with roast dinners. The service was excellent, the staff being more professional and attentive than we have experienced in a long time. Real ale drinkers would have been more than happy with a great local beer being served from the cask on the bar counter.

There was a lot of choice on the menu which makes me wonder if meals are cooked fresh. The specials board had 4 dishes to chose from including fish. All meals cooked to order. We were not disappointed. Amazing food and the staff couldn't do enough. Highly recommend this place. Great value to.

Great English breakfast but it didn't have baked beans which made it a bit dry. The mushrooms were good however!  The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great

Went for an early dinner our starters was really nice crab and prawn cocktail,my main duck was ok it was over cooked and the mash was powdered mash but my husbands surf and turf was fantastic, the staff were very friendly would go again as the small prob with my main didn't put a damper on the day

I'd never been here for food before, but had family visiting and wanted somewhere close to the beach so we could walk up an appetite in the winter sunshine. Booking was easy and friendly, and the food was universally excellent. We had four different meals and all cleared our plates - my beef roast was amazing!  Ended up staying for a fair bit longer than we'd planned, due to the lovely staff and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended - we'll be back

In fairness, I have had worse-but I’ve had better. The meal I had cod chips & peas, my wife a Sunday lunch represents fair value, but was nothing outstanding. Nothing more to add.

Friendly staff, good service. Food home cooked. I had curry of the day, lamb balti and wife had spinach and mushroom lasagne thoroughlyenjoyed. Beer ok but disappointed no Devon brewery stocked.

Visited The Anchor twice a few weeks ago and found the pub clean, friendly staff and the food looked good to. Best to book if eating as looked popular
