Story

This brand new bar concept in the heart of the city centre has its Mancunian roots coursing through its veins.

The Liquor Store opens its doors on the corner of Blackfriars Street and The Parsonage, situated just off Deansgate, underneath the Maybrook House building.

Bare brickwork, vintage Los Angeles Liquor Store signage and a bar crammed with a collection of the most desirable liquors from around the globe are just some of the features waiting to greet as you enter.

Amongst the subtle nods towards American bar culture the standout theme is the city of Manchester.

One whole wall is dedicated to our cities most loved exports with everyone from Liam & Noel to Nobby Stiles and even Les Dawson watching you as you drink.

Passionate service from one of the cities best bar teams delivers a whole host of cocktail creations such as ‘The Stone Rose, ‘Jennings cox Daiquiri and the ‘Reverse Thyme Mojito’.

Quirky, original, creative but inherently stylish. Just like the city itself.

The Liquor Store is open throughout the day to quell your caffeine fix, serving light lunches or go straight to it and work your way though the extensive liquor menu (unless you’re heading back to the office!).

This café bar ambience is transformed at 5pm with the help of its Indie Rock’n’Roll and classic Rock Pop soundtrack blend.

To help ease you in to the spirit of the night there’s the ‘Happy Days’ offer of 50% off all drinks* and sharing platters from 5pm til 8pm.

It’s intimate atmosphere and late opening hours, seven days a week showcase the true Manchester party spirit.

With plans to transform Sundays in the City with a ‘Bloody Mary Buffet’ from 11am and deals for all industry workers, the Liquor Store is storming Manchester, and we’re ready for it.

I did put a review in on another site but I thought I’d get my Google one in, this was from a few months ago. This place was absolutely amazing and I really mean it, one of the best bars I’ve ever been to. The music was spot on and the decor was amazing. It really did embody Manchester at its finest. The bartender who opened up was class and quite hilarious and when the other ones turned up they were just the same. The cocktail menu is literally perfect and the ghostbuster sharer is just so worth the price it’s unreal. The only note I could make is that they don’t do food, if they did…. It could be a contender for the place place in Manchester but I understand it’s a bar not a restaurant and they don’t wanna expand by building a kitchen and hiring chefs etc.
AMAZING! One of our fave bars, brought a big group and everyone was so accommodating and made sure we got the most out of our experience. Hands down best cocktails in Manchester, had the best time as always!Food: 5/5
Visited last night and ordered their cigarettes and alcohol cocktail which was really nice. However, the bartender was really rude to me. I saw when making the cocktails they put a lot of ice and I have sensitive teeth so asked if I could have less ice looking at the glass filled with ice on the bar. He said that the glass on the bar wasn't mine and scoffed at me. I then said I wanted no ice if possible seeing as he hadn't yet put any ice in my glass and he explained that the glass would be half full. I said that's fine but he looked annoyed. He then further said I cant have a garnish because the garnish would usually sit on the ice. I said that's fine and took the cocktail. Honestly wouldn't go back here after this experience. Made it out that my request was a big deal and hassle. Such a shame as the drink was nice!
I loved the atmosphere and music. Staff were so friendly and warm . We went there this time with girls to surprise one of them an she loved it. Every time when i was there I enjoyed it. All i can say I wish liquor had more space at the front door .
Have been twice in two months. Manchester themed decor with lovely comfy booths. Cocktail menu is lovely, with some inventive choices. First time visiting was after work with friends and the barman was extremely friendly but the place was very quiet so he had more time for a personable touch. I personally had the cocktail in picture, which was pleasant. Based on the first experience, we came back a second time, as a group of 5. There was a roaming waitress who was amazing and one barman was extremely nice and had such a fun attitude it was impossible not to be happy when talking to him, however, the other barman with dreadlocks was extremely rude, and more interested in joking about with other staff and being overbearing. He also refused one male in our group a share cocktail stating we didnt enough people? When questioned, he refused to actually answer why and walked away. The toilet attendant apparently wasn't wearing footwear, which is very bizarre. Upon leaving, the outside area had filled with cigar smokers and people discussing using coke which gave it a sleazy vibe upon leaving which you don't feel inside as the vibe inside is very cool. Overall, nice place, and when quiet is great, cracks in service appear when very busy.
This little gem rates in my top 10 for small tucked away bars in Manchester. The staff are legends! The music is rock n roll 60s/70s. The cocktails are sublime. Not only this but the place is spotless. I'll definitely be going there again.
Amazing cocktails and music. Really attentive staff. We always have a good time here
I have never received such terrible customer service. The manager must be one of the rudest people I have ever met. Well apart from his obvious group of friends hanging around the bar. Please avoid at all costs, the abysmal customer service here actually ruined my night.
Danny the boss is the best guy ive ever spoken to! What a lovely guy and manager felt I was really listened to and was told things were taken seriously. He needs a pay rise well done Danny!Food: 5/5
