I don't normally have strongly negative opinions about places but my experience here managed to illicit that from me. The service was very bad - we waited almost 30 minutes before anyone came to take our order despite it being very slow. The hummus wasn't good, the open face goats cheese sandwich was okay, the sweet potato fries were served cold and limp, and the pancakes were actively very bad tough and served with wilted, wrinkled blueberries with stems still on. Really not a good experience at all. I won't be back again and would not recommend. Vegetarian options: The pancakes normally come with bacon. On explaining I don't eat meat they offered extra blueberries instead. There were maybe a dozen blueberries in total and lots of them were well past ripe.
The Spanish chicken was lovely with the flavour of the chicken having dripped down onto everything beneath, the cubes of chorizo added a good saltiness to the more delicate vegetables. They have an online allergy menu however it hadn't been completely updated with filters as I could see it was different to the physical menu which included an item with nuts in.
Started to come to this venue quite often for breakfast. It’s located in the Corn Exchange and accessed by some stairs - there’s also a lift available. There’s a fantastic bar area with views over the exchange floor and the amazing skylight. The pub is decorated in ye olde style with old portraits and animal heads. Tbh I found the heads in poor taste and a bit disturbing. The dining area has lovely views over the cathedral grounds and has a lovely cosy atmosphere. Service is always quick and friendly, this week we were served by Leona sorry if I have spelt this wrong! who was awesome. We ordered coffees and the ‘Butchers Breakfast’ Drinks came quickly and were very nice. I really like their coffee. I had a latte and a fresh OJ. They actually do freshly squeezed OJ, not just the carton stuff! Breakfast came in very good time and was delicious. I particularly love their beans, so tasty! Also the quality of meat is very high, bacon and sausages 100% banging. I haven’t eaten any main meals here yet but I’m defo gonna try asap! This is my new fave place for breakfast and they serve till 4pm so, brunch ahoy! Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to access lift and toilet
Really tasty food in comfy and classy decor. The steaks were too rare for the medium order but this was swiftly corrected. Can't fault the service. Polite, friendly and good chat. Couldn't do enough for us. Helped my daughter have a great end to her graduation. Even provided with free bubbly to help celebrate. Easily dealt with dietary requirements.
Visited in Dec 2023; the food and service were very good. The staff were friendly and the food arrived quite soon after ordering. The decor was interesting and the atmosphere was relaxed, with a nice bar area that you can visit without having to eat. Vegan options all looked nice and I'd happily go back there again. Vegetarian options: Several interesting vegan options available, and the one I had was gorgeous.
Gluten free menu available. Service was very good, also the food. I would visit again. Recommended. Dietary restrictions: Glutern free
Very tasty. I had the sea bass on noodles that were very flavorful. The fish on the other hand was a little dry and could have used some spices or salt... or anything really. It's a really interesting concept they had but they fell a little short. Still very enjoyable anyways. The atmosphere is nice and the staff are very kind!
Cosy is cosy as always ..... Tried them at Milton Keynes and the same atmosphere at Manchester. Manchester Cosy recommended for afternoon tea and coffee break
Decent food, nice place, kind staff. However, they didn't clean the table, and we didn't like the coffee.
