Great indoor decor and ambience. Nice layout with space between tables and staff wearing masks this is posted during Omicron. Friendly staff and clean/polished look about the place. We had the Sunday roast beef and lamb and the haddock. Good portions and tasty food, though the rectangular plates were a little awkward and limited the amount of food on the plate!

A lovely little location with great decor. Cosy, friendly and clean. Staff were very nice and the food was lovely. I can imagine this place being a cute little Christmas stop. Would recommend

Went there for a St Francis quiz night. Food was tasty and not overpriced and service was impeccable. Very nice decor and very clean. So worth a visit! I had a pizza and whit chocolate and passion fruit cheesecake! Fish and chip option was lovely too!Food: 5/5

Gastro village pub. Very food orientated. Tables and chairs, not what you might expect from the outside. Surprising arranged layout. Good outside area. I have lived in the area for 50 years, so seen many changes. The refurb here is positive. Would have given a five star rating if I had had food it looked good, but I only dropped in to meet an old friend for beer and catch up.

Just had an early evening meal here. Food was amazing and the service fantastic. It was quite busy but lots of staff to make sure everything went smoothly. We will definitely go back again. Highly recommend

If you haven’t tried the leather bottle yet, you really should. Their roast dinner is hands down the best I have ever had in a pub. What makes the place so special is the staff, everyone of them are helpful, pleasant and make your dining experience second to none

The best roast dinner in Essex! Great food menu here and excellent service. Nice setting, table set out & clean. Staff are professional, helpful & genuinely friendly. Love this little village pub/restaurant.

I recently had Sunday lunch here with my 4 year old. Friendly service, no long wait times for ordering, or food and drink being served. The Sunday roast was delicious, and was served with a big portion of veg. Also the best yorkshire pud I've had in a long time! Children's portion was really good for a 4 year old. What a wonderful time was had by all. Over twenty of us for Christmas dinner and it was delicious and for me, more important,  it was hot.  Plenty of it given with a service so professional and  friendly. Not the cheapest but definitely worth the money.  We shall be back.Food: 5/5
