Welcome to The Eden Vale Inn

Here at the Eden Vale Inn, our aim is to make your visit to the area entirely pleasurable, with exceptional food, great company, fine ales and comfortable accommodation in the most beautiful of settings.

We source all the ingredients for our exceptional menu, locally wherever possible in order to ensure freshness, quality and the continuation of our strong community links. Our staff too are mainly from the local area and are happy to help our visitors to plan their visit, days out or holidays in this diverse and beautiful area.

The Eden Vale Inn is much more than a great restaurant though, with a warm and friendly bar that makes visitors as welcome as it does our many regulars and comfortable accommodation that will encourage our visitors to linger longer, enjoy an extra drink with dinner and perhaps plan an entire holiday here.

On special occasions, why not consider indulging in the entire package here at the Eden Vale Inn, with dinner, drinks and accommodation. Special events such as Mother’s Day, Christmas and St. Valentine’s Day are exceptionally special here at The Eden Vale.

This place was a little gem of a find. Travelling back to Carlisle stopped off for some food on way home. So pleased we did. The best fish cake I have ever tasted, Cumberland sausage and mash was to die for and as for the banoffee pie. Wow!! First class service from the minute we walked in the door. Would highly recommend a visit. Restaurant quality food all very reasonably priced. Best meal out in a long time and we will definitely be back. Thanks so much x
We were extremely disappointed and we will never stay here again. We had an awful experience here. Paid extra on an already expensive room for breakfast, then the next day 8:30AM, expecting a nice breakfast we were informed by the cleaner that there is no chef, and therefore no breakfast. No contact about this beforehand. Furthermore, trying to get a refund even for the breakfast that we paid extra for and never got is proving extremely difficult. We feel completely scammed. The room itself was OK, it feels like the decor is trying hard to feel "premium" on a budget but the room lacks basic items like a bar of soap. It was definitely not worth the price for the room even without breakfast in our opinion. Edit: Further to the response from the property, no, in fact, a reply to this review is the only direct contact I have had with anybody except the barman who provided the key, and the cleaner who advised that there would be no breakfast that I had already paid for. I think you are liars and scammers, and I wouldn't be surprised if you have paid for fake reviews via nefarious means to try and dilute all of the bad ones you must be getting, based on the lack of service I experienced. If you were honest, you would have refunded me already, since you know you didn't have a chef, but took my money anyway. It is easy to sit behind a keyboard isn't it? Much like you; no interaction with guests. This will not be the last you hear about it until I get my money back.
Called in having not booked. It was busy but they were able to fit us in. Had to chase the food order, and they were very apologetic. When it arrived it was delicious. Would definitely go back.Service: 4/5

We stopped at the pub as we were at a christening after party. The pub is modernized and smart but still keeps it’s old charm. The food we had was well cooked and we had plenty of it. The owners have done a great job of modernizing and the rooms are stylish ,spotless and very comfortable with a personal touch.A home away from home!. The staff are very friendly and professional and we didn’t have to wait long before we had a drink in our hands. We spent a good while out in the beer garden and I did feel that more could be made of it as it’s in a lovely quiet location and has a lot of potential to be landscaped and brought up to the standard of the exceptional interior of the pubconstructive criticism. Food delicious, we had the Indian Burrito and the Salmon .. yummy, friendly service, we ate in the bar area as we had our dog which was fine but it was quite cold especially when the band left the doors open to bring in their gear! Lovely place Service: 4/5
Another little hidden gem that ticks all the boxes. Probably one of the nicest, friendliest places I've stayed in. The first thing you notice before you even walk into the room is the lovely smell in the hallway. And once you open the door you will be very impressed. The decor, the modern furniture and the lovely new clean modern bathroom. Let's not forget the top quality comfy bed. The only thing missing to me was no coffee machine. I don't mean to sound negative but if it had one I'd personally rate it the nicest place I've stayed in. I didn't get a chance to sample the breakfast as I had to hit the road early but the owner did make me a lovely bacon and egg sandwich for the road and the evening meal was excellent. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to my next visit.
We stayed nearby and had a lovely dinner here one Saturday evening, food was excellent, service was great, the staff were brilliant accommodating our requests, lovely home cooked, good quality meals and stylish yet traditional decor inside Food & drinks: Great quality
