It is a very good wetherspoons, I like to go upstairs and get a window seat overlooking the city Square. The food is nice for what you pay for it. The drinks are cheap and they have a good selection of real ales. It gets quite lively on a weekend and a good atmosphere.Food: 5/5
This is a large, pleasantly decorated and very centrally situated pub. I found the service in Nottingham generally very good and this is no exception: the staff were welcoming and very efficient. The price of food and drink is, as usual unbeatable: by far the cheapest of anything comparable in the city centre. I noticed that they had a booklet presumably common to all Wetherspoons with helpful descriptions of the wines on offer: I really like this because it demonstrates a real commitment to providing good quality wines to working people. TOP TIP: as with all Wetherspoons, some of the clientele can become quite ‘boisterous’ aided by the best value booze for miles. You therefore need to choose the best times to visit: my preference is for early afternoon or evening at weekends and at any time from Monday to Thursdays. Recommended.
3 for £14.93, pizzas were lovely and hot, good amount of toppings. The chicken strips were crispy and yum. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Tidy pub too!
Lovely friendly staff, freshly cooked breakfast, a real gemFood: 5/5
In the centre of Nottingham, 2 bars, one downstairs one upstairs. Real ale, lagers, wine and sports. No parking available. It was quiet when we visited. Cheap beer, £1.77 a pint!! Oct 2023 in the centre of Nottingham!! Typical spoons food, vegan and of options available.
Not quite 5* Possibly we arrived when they were under staffed. Tables not cleared or cleaned. The server didn't place the plate on the table properly, nearly had it on my lap. Portions were smaller than I expected. Again must be the time we arrived but there was quite a roudy atmosphere
The acoustics are odd in here. Sit upstairs and you can hear everything being said by people from the crowded downstairs amplified. Maybe because of the oddly angled concrete ceiling and peculiar voids. Whatever it is , it creates an unpleasant cacophony upstairs. Take earplugs. Fabulous view onto the old market square. We were fortunate to see a magnificent wedding party posing for pix. Trams pass directly outside.. shops all around.
Busy place and quite popular among local people. Personally I am visiting this pub because they serve very strong coffee and price is much lower than anywhere else around. They serve traditional pub classics food as well as English breakfast and that's a huge plate with a good food. I'd recommend You to book a table before the next visit for longer stay.
Right bang opposite to the city centre, good menu on food and prices are great especially if you're a student. I ended up ordering two burgers , good size on both of them, the skinless breast burger was a bit dry and it became difficult to swallow after I had chewed it, but overall it was good. The interior are nice for a pleasant evening with friends and family and a casual drink. The staff are very friendly. I'd definitely go back if ever wanted to have a decent burger and chicken. They also have an app , which you can use while being seated, via the app you can order and pay online and the food will be brought to you at your table. The day I visited , the app had some issues, but I'm sure it's fixed now.
The worst place for food been as bad as this staff ignorant food cold anvoid discusting no pizzasno burgers this place is a joke replace staff as they are sarcastic food with no drink when states drink, been 3 years nothing has changed food ,asked for soft egg chips hard meat cold and dry peas mixed colour ,flies all a round meal at least I hope the flies enjoy the meal ,£32 wasted never again ,drink was ok
