Tuesday 20 March, had a lovely, leisurely lunch, from 12.30 to 3.30pm. From the outset, was pleased with the disabled parking and access as I have a small scooter. Staff were very welcoming, polite and pleasant. I wish I had got the name of the waitress as she was excellent with a genuine smile and good sense of humour. I happened to notice she was training a young man but in an unobtrusive and kind manner. The food, service and atmosphere rated a 4 on this occasion. Only one negative - we waited a bit too long for tea and the bill - we had to ask 3 times which should not have been necessary as it wasn't particularly busy. However, we will return but wonder if service, staff, food etc is as good when it is busy, (e.g warm, sunny weekend in the summer at most popular times) as it was yesterday. We shall see .... but enjoyed yesterday's experience and would recommend you to friends. Thank you, (especially to our waitress)!

Unfortunately just OK. First impressions are good, cosy and comfortable with a good range of beers etc. The food was good however it is a shame there wasn't more of it. For the price I would expect more, after all this is a gastropub not a Michelin restaurant. Unfortunately I was still hungry after my meal. Would probably return for drinks but eat elsewhere.

Lovely comfortable pub with a nice ambience and friendly attentive staff. Unfortunately the menu doesn't deliver. While the food looks fantastic it lacks flavour, texture and excitement of any sort.

Had a most enjoyable Sunday lunch with family and friends. Friendly helpful staff and pleasant atmosphere made for a great time. Thank you to all the staff.

This is such a lovely pub, lovely staff but the food portions leave me speechless for the price they charge. I had two small slices of lamb, with a side portion of Cauliflower cheese IN A PUDDING BASIN??? It was just mush, dried up mush, at £3 extra. The lamb Sunday lunch at £17!!! Absolutely outrageous! I’m afraid I had to point this out to the manager on duty who asked very politely what did I want them to do, my response was, you tell me what you are prepared to do. They didn’t charge for the two lamb roasts but wanted to charge for the Cauliflower cheese mush, I spooned it out of the basin & asked really, you really expect me to pay for this, they accepted my argument without any difficulty. The staff dealt with my grievance with great professionalism & embarrassment (I got the impression it is a regular occurrence) but why oh why don’t the powers that be, learn from the reviews & improve the size of the mains rather than fill the plate with potatoes & veg. I have given this pub its final chance as I basically like the pub & friendly staff but today was really the very final straw. I think the turn over of staff also speaks volumes, it is such a pity no one seems to be listening.
