Proper old fashioned boozer. Sky sports news on silent Wetherspoons style. Slightly pricey for an old style pub but I guess we are in Surrey!

Absolutely unfriendly. The second I walk in, it’s quiet (not complaining about that), there’s barely anyone, and I decided to sit down and wait for my friends for a drink. I was asked “yes please” from the barkeep, and I replied with “sorry?”, he repeated himself and I replied back with “ohh no thank you, I’m good”. He kept asking me to repeat again and again, I thought he was bad at hearing til I asked what he was asking me for. He asked if I wanted to get a drink, I replied yet again that I didn’t and was fine. He replied along the lines of, “this isn’t a waiting room, you either get a drink or get out!”, I thought the point of a pub was to come inside from the cold, take a seat, have a drink if you wanted to and relax with friends or have a good time. But from the way I’ve been treated, I’d recommend everyone to stay away from this grain of salt in the wound. Unless you’d want to leave it picking up sawdust in your mouth as if a pidgeon roosted in it, and the pidgeon will also get a mouthful. Don’t go here.

Great atmosphere. It's got sky sports, a couple of fruit machines a pool table and a golf machine. It is just a 5 minute walk down Stoke road, away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Everybody is friendly and it is not over busy. I use it most days. Yours Colin Checkley.
