Great little local pub, hand pulle Bitter and Guinness Sport on largish screen, plus one slot machine. Parking costs a quid 😣, but they take it off your order at the bar 😇\o/ yay!. Darts, but no pool table. The food is from a chain; deffo not gastro, but quite edible and reasonably priced . The nearest other pub is not till Merrow (nor been there, but looks a but fobidding--- not book-bt-cover-judging-- just saying. The locals all seem friendly plus helpful and efficient bar staff, so well worth supporting this lovely local gem, so why not pop in for a pint or whatever and see for yourself?

Terrible place , what's happened? We went on mother's Day and the kitchen was closed. The bar is full of locals who no doubt are in their day in, day out and I felt uncomfortable being their. Outside the sign is broke and their was rubbish everywhere in the front garden. Come on John Barras... Give Burpham back a pub that we as a family can eat and socialise in. It's nothing more than a working men's club at the moment.. a very bad one at that.

I would leave 0 stars if I could. Having lived in Burpham all my life, I've seen the Anchors slow decline first hand. This used to be a friendly, warm family pub. These days however... The toilets are disgusting, the bar smelt actively dirty and the general clientele are scummy to say the least. Further to this, the food is microwaved, the pints are overpriced and the entire place is sticky and clad in tacky decor. On my most recent visit, the pub was meant to stay open till 12, but the bar spontaneously closed at 11, giving no notification of last call. We were promptly thrown out. Go anywhere else.
