My favourite small gallery. Housed in one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. Permanent collection is a must for lovers of Gainsborough and contemporaries. Currently showing a splendid exhibition in the modern extension to the rear, excellent. Cafe is worth a trip on its own, being in a modern glass extension where you are surrounded by the gardens. Great place

Great museum in a lovely house, with small garden behind (although there is also a large park area directly behind garden too). Range of interesting paintings, ceramics and other exhibits. Only complaint is that it's not a larger museum!

The building itself - old and new parts - and grounds are beautiful. However the permanent collection is pretty dull to anyone without a serious interest in techniques, and I wouldn't bring kids here unless there's a specific exhibition aimed at children. The cafe is really nice but posh. And expensive. And if your kid wants an ice lolly, you're out of luck - it's posh ice cream or nothing!

Wonderful helpful staff. Some extraordinary items, Paintings, ceramics, needlwork, minerals, mimiatures. Not too overpowering-a nice scale. We liked the hidden pianist, the views of Bath and the gardens -it was a fine day...and those scones!!

Spectacular gallery / museum, wonderful pieces and curation with some truly interesting features. Well worth a visit and the walk from the city centre.
