A super mine tour with an excellent guide. We spent an hour an a half on the tour instead of the usual 45 minutes. Well worth the admission. A bit steep underfoot in places but there is a handrail. Also the headroom is low in places and you have to bend slightly.

Wonderful and fascinating experience. Our guide, Rick was a treasure trove of knowledge and brought the past to life. Get to experience complete darkness, so dark you cannot tell if your eyes are open or shut. A wonderful experience that anyone who visits the forest should try.

Basic food, not dog friendly but you can sit outside (unlike Weatherspoons) with your dog providing its not too cold/raining. Seats not comfy outside. Lovely setting in forest + clean loos. Restrictions on kids going down mine.

Fantastic guide, very clued up on the history and function of the mine and made the tour extremely worthwhile. A hidden gem, well worth the visit

It was a really interesting trip down the mine, unassuming place with very nice people. Guide was great with kids and we really enjoyed it. Lovely cream teas as well!
