The Gym High Wycombe

Great value gym, lots of nice new equipment which is maintained. Free parking, sometimes hard to get a spot when popular classes are on and the spaces are quite small. Friendly staff who are happy to help. Additonal review: A year on, parking is getting tougher, sometimes you can be waiting 5 minutes until you find a free space. There are also people who do not have disabled badges parking in disabled bays. You can also be waiting for some of the equipment in the gym at peak times. The introductory offer is coming to an end, which will bring the monthly price of membership in line with other gyms in the area.

Amazing value for money. Quite old fashioned equipment. Parking can be tricky at peak times - equipment can be busy at this time too. Lots of classes available but you don't know which instructor it is running the class until you arrive. The personal trainers are all really helpful. Good vibes, not intimidating, welcoming for people of all fitness levels. Clean with good communal changing facilities - bring your own padlock. 24/7 access.

It's a good price for what you get and open 24 hours a day. The classes are fun. The only issue is that it gets very busy in the evenings after work so you have to wait to get a space in certain machines or spaces.

Utlitarian and modern gym. Notably high security. I liked the open plan layout, which gives you a chance to scope out classes before joining.

Not a massive fan to be honest. I normally go around 18:30-19:45 on weekdays and I'm primarily in the weights area. It's normally very busy and feels like I'm constantly searching for the weights I want or having to wait. It is also rare to be on one of the power racks without someone asking to work in, not necessarily a negative but if they don't want to work in with me I feel like I'm rushed to finish out of guilt. They lack a hyperextension bench and calf machine which is a disappointment. I did a body pump class the other week which for me was alright but probably won't do it again. I do like that you can see the classes while you're working out in the main gym area however, they don't appear to play loud music unless there's a class on which makes forgetting your headphones worse than it should be. The location and price is convenient for me but definitely not the best gym in Wycombe.
