This is one of the dirties DL I ever seen. The whole duration I was here didn't see a single cleaner. To top the enjoyment as a platinum member you can only use gym nothing else. You are not allowed into any spa area, outside jacuzzi wad also closed. Its a joke that your members can come to my home gym and use everything but I can't come from another club and use your spa. Whats the point of platinum membership Might as well just join a local club and not pay you £140/month
Decent gym. Has most common equipment and a fancy water fountain. The gym is a bit smaller than I thought i thought it would be. And the swimming pool is open in the middle and below of the gym, a bit unusual. But other than that, it’s good
Good equipment and classes. The reason I would not give it 4-5 stars is because I pay the higher membership partly for the guest pass however guests are not allowed to use the spa. I have enquired numerous times and never get an answer on when this will be addressed. In addition to this, sometimes the changing rooms, swimming pools and showers are dirty, especially in the holidays although the club staff are a lot more friendlier from when I first joined. The overall service and facilities are not reflection on the high membership costs.
This is not the easiest review - first of all, every member of customer-facing staff has always been very friendly and efficient. Can't fault them on that. However, this place smacks of Private Equity greed. I'd been a member of another DL gym since ~2011 and transferred over to Beaconsfield around October 2020 at £89/mo. Then without notice in January 2021 they increased it to £107.75. An inflation busting 20%. What is the point of joining on a 12 month contract and 2 months in they jack it up 20%? They also took away my food and drink discount and it would not be re-instated for surprise surprise another 11 months despite multiple complaints! During the year they've cut staff hours, reduced gym floor classes and the food was a mess. But the biggest surprise came a few days ago on 1 December. Once again they're parading the investment they made 2 years ago in an email with a little note in it "I’d also like to share details of your membership for next year." and a button. They're jacking the price again - to £130/mo from 1st Jan 2023. So 45% increase in 2 years. Talk about greed. So, thoroughly not pleased about this. What's to stop them raising prices above inflation every year going forward? And to not leave anyone enough time to give notice either.
Horrible customer service! I have been the member since 2017 and decided to cancel my rolling over membership in Sep 2022; after sending few emails, I’ve got one email back saying that I must give three months notice so my membership will run up to 3rd of January 2023. I could not use the gym since October and paid up until December. However, there was last payment outstanding which I expected them to invoice me. Therefore I cancelled the direct debit in December. Instead of contacting me these bunch of thieves have instructed debt collectors two days after ending of my contract and added administration charge on top of the payment. They have made no contact with myself or sent email as a reminder for the payment. Completely disorganised.
After taking out a fixed term contract, and being reassured that she did not have any additional fees to pay at the end of her term, David Lloyd is now harassing my wife for unpaid membership fees and setting a debt collector on her without any invoices or prior notice. They are completely disorganised, have no interest in being customer centric and there is an abject failure of leadership at this club. They think of their clients as cash machines and don't deserve your custom
Received email regarding 14 day trial, clicked on link and no longer doing. Phoned to speak with membership team and every question I asked was returned with a "no". To not give a potential customer the option to come down and trial the facilities before paying £179 a month is a poor marketing strategy. I will however go for my trial at Virgin Active and join a corporation that cares about new business. Avoid this one at all cost!
A disappointing and stressful first experience; arrived having paid for a 2 week trial membership to then be told that I couldn’t come into the gym because they’d over subscribed on the trial memberships. The money had already been taken out of my account, no refund had been issued, no contact had been made prior to my visit to explain this issue, I was just turned away at the door. The trial membership stated that I could add someone else to my membership when I arrived but I was then told on the day that I couldn’t add my 4 year old daughter to the membership and instead would have to pay for individual day passes for her. I have been unable to get hold of anyone from head office/complaints department to explain this issue further left on hold for atleast 20mins. I had such high expectations for a premium gym but instead left very disappointed and shocked with the lack of communication/sudden change of policies/information without any notification.
Today I made an appointment to begin a 14 day free trial. After checking in at reception after waiting 15 mins finally a member staff came stating she did not know I was there. I was asked to download the app to book classes. Which I have done but get kicked out when trying to to create a guess account. No one showed me around or how to use the gym equipment. No one discussed membership deals. Felt they did not want my custom i was made to feel unwelcome.
Genuinely appreciate the facilities and found that it is worth the investment on health and wellbeing. In terms of improvement in the future for the club, It would be helpful for there to be more space in the men’s locker room as I find it somewhat small and the showers could do with some hair conditioner as found in other clubs atop of the already existing shower gel.
