The Green Dragon

A characterful hotel a little past its best. Having said that, it was clean and well run with a good help yourself breakfast. There is evidence dotted about of its more elegant past. Interesting architecture and internal features. We loved it but it is a million miles away from the modern chain hotels. Old but everything worked.

Probably Hereford's principle hotel. Historic and elegant, albeit with a somewhat old-fashioned offering. Large comfortable rooms (mostly) which are clean and well appointed with all the features one would expect. Friendly staff, a good welcome, and a filling breakfast in a heart of the city location. What more could one want?

Lovely attentive staff. We had one of their largest rooms. Decor is very dated and antique feel to the place. Plenty of towels. Hair dryer and tea making facilities available. Iron and board also available. Trouser press also available. I should think the hotel does need a complete makeover. It's clean but not as clean as I would like it to be. There is also an Indian restaurant within the hotel you could consider eating at. Queen size beds are not actual queen size Beds but in fact 2 single beds put together which isn't the best method as if you end up lying over the middle you'll have aches and pains from the ridge poking through the sheets. The price however per night let's you excuse these flaws. You even get free parking during your stay there. There are certainly room for improvements but overall if you're looking for a cheap and cheerful place to stay this is the place to go.

Love the hotel friendly staff. Stayed there for years. Love it breakfast great.

Ghastly. Don't visit this monstrosity unless you wish to meet rudest, least professional hotel manager in town. The bouncer(?) will threaten you with the police if you're late checking out, (my arm in plaster cast and sling, and my crutch following a recent knee replacement might have accounted for my tardiness!) Don't go here if you're disabled or need help...they don't give a damn. I've paid this dump hundreds of pounds over the past year as I needed a base in Hereford following a series of surgeries. A case of necessity. There are exceptions, of course: Nicola, Matt and Ahmed are charming, but struggle on in the face of this sinking ship. Filthy paintwork, cockroaches, ragged carpets, overpriced food and prehistoric plumbing complete a miserable picture. Management is diffident, provincial and arrogant, arousing genuine concerns for their mental health.
