A team day was organised at the Great Victoria. We used a large conference room, refreshments were served in the morning and afternoon, and a buffet lunch was served. The conference room was ill-suited to our needs. The stage was of modest height, and consequently only those sat on the front row were able to see the bottom third of the images protected on the screen on the stage. Refreshments were served in the hotel lobby. At those times the lobby was VERY crowded. It occurred to me that if I were a guest at the hotel, I would have found any interaction with the front desk at this time to be very difficult. I had to check six toilet cubicles before I found one which was (1) lit, (2) had a working lock and (3) had a coat hook. Two out of three was not good enough! I need to do physio exercises due to back pain. The receptionist was unable to offer me a private space to do this, I ultimately did my physio in a semi-secluded public area behind the lift shaft, visible to anybody using the stairs. I had no issues with any of the staff who were professional and courteous at every interaction.

Beautiful decor in the foyer and the bedroom was nicely decorated. Price very reasonable for the service provided. Bedroom was a little cold at night but that was due to the extreme snow at the time. Buffet breakfast was pleasant, but did not retain its warmth very well. Would definitely recommend this place

Lovely wedding venue for a small party. Good range of beverages. The food served was excellent.

14th April. Went for a Murder Mystery evening. The meal took a total of 3 hours to be served. We got our pudding at 11pm!! The chicken was served with 2 potatoes and 2 carrots. The fish was tasteless and dry. It was very difficult to follow the actors from the back of the room as the room was obviously over subscribed. On arrival it took 40 minutes to get served at the bar. We have previously been here for a works do which was also disappointing. Will definitely not be going again!!!! Given one star as would not let post without a star rating!!

Centrally located with parking and reasonable standard for the price. I would avoid breakfast as it's particularly disappointing, only instant coffee provided despite the capability to make real coffee within the hotel.
