Staff try very hard to please all despite the fact there seem to be too few of them. Food was OK at dinner but breakfast which was well advertised was well below par. Rubbery eggs and eggs obviously shallow fried in lard were less than palatable and in fact have me a stomach ache. Sausages had not seen a lot of meet and we're actually missing on the Sunday. No mushrooms to be seen as part of their 'very good' breakfast. At a discounted price of well over £80 for a small double room + breakfast it wasn't the best choice! Not the best place for a valentines celebration!

Music too loud. Bar staff could not hear each other. Three sets of customers walked in and out because of the noise. Food was not bad, customer care good. Shame about the sticky tables and the loud music. Otherwise good.

Nice hotel great seaviews. Comfortable rooms . Friendly staff. Good bar. Walking distance to the town. Plenty of public car parking close by.

We went for a short break with our border collie, who had a lovely time. Sadly I was going down with an illness when I arrived, so spent a lot of time in the room and so didn't really get to try much of the food, but it seemed good from what I could see. The staff were friendly and helpful. My phone would not allow me to connect to the hotel internet, which was a bit slow anyway and I couldnt get a phone signal (Virgin) around the hotel, which could be a problem for some, but obviously beyond the hotels control.

Yes the building is old and needs a little work however for the price you pay for bed breakfast and evening meal it was a areal bargin The staff were friendly and helpful, room clean and food varied and tasty. If you want a 5 🌟 luxury Michelin star type of stay then this not place for you. If you want a nice place to rest your head then this is a definitate must I will be returning Thankyou Golden lion for a lovely stay
