A nice local pub. There were some nice local ales available which were well kept. The friendly locals at the bar taught us to play 'spoof' - a game of guessing how many coins in total a group of players has in their hands, each hold coins in a clenched hand, ranging from none to the number of people in the group, those who guess correctly are eliminated and the last person in the game buys a round.

Been here a few times whilst doing work in Lower Swell 18 months ago. Returned with Mum, Dad and partner in the vain hope that they would be able to sort us our for Sunday lunch. All staff were great, as was the food, and we had a lovely lunch. Many thanks to all involved

Really beautiful village and area. The pub is really nice and cosy . Superbe the food delicious steak, chicken , lamb sandwiches and pudding . Nice atmosphere and lovely local people. Great staff!

never been in to this pub - but the name always make me smile and i know i have 1/3 of the journey over. It's my ambition to go in. There always seems to be cars outside which is usually a good sign

I like it there because Spike goes in and he's a right laugh. Word of advice to passers by. Ask for a pint "on Baz's slate". Landlord thinks it's funny and obliges.ost noobies end up with a pint on the house! Perfect
