We stopped here to eat. Dish and chips was great piping hot tasty and well presented. Nice chips. The roast was really upsetting. Cold chicken that had no colour and soft skin. The veg consisted of leeks with a few peas and couple of carrots . Parsnips were about the best bit but even they were like warm. Had to ask for.my cauliflower cheese and that was also not even hot. Really am so disappointed. Cost a lot of money but was so.hungry I ate it. Sadly I'll never ever go back.
Great hotel well priced. The room was a good size and well furnished.The breakfast was amazing top quality. The menu for tea was limited and quite pricey. If I was staying away on holiday wouldn't be a issue but with works food budget limited to £20 per day was quite tight, but the food was fantastic.
Travelling for work around this area at the moment and this is the best place I've stayed by a mile! Gorgeous room with a huge comfy bed, a bath and LOTS of facilities and gadgets. Very clean and spacious and I could hardly hear the road.nnLovely pub throughout and food and breakfast was well priced and tasted amazing. I tried the lamb flatbread and it was huge. Hoping to be back soon!
Went for the Tapas Tuesday offer. Not clear that only selected wines are in the offer. Walked through the open door to be rudely/sharply told “this area is shut” Why not close the door or put a sign on the door! Food average and not particularly hot. Service friendly
Every time I come to the George it is a delightful experience. The food is always cooked perfectly and very well seasoned, without long waiting times I especially like the tacos, fish and chips and Sunday roast. Rooms are always immaculate, clean and I really like the bathroom decor. All staff are all very smiley and welcoming. It is a great location with a great aura inside I try to stop by when I can especially when passing through the area which I often do for work. A complete favorite of mine will be returning!
