Thank you Eve, Ryan and Pete for wonderful hospitality and food. Eve welcomed us with such charm and enthusiasm, she has an incredible knowledge of not only the bar but also the restaurant service. Ryan was a giggle and it was nice to see someone work with an eye to detail re cleanliness. It goes without saying that Pete cooks up a storm in that kitchen!
We booked and pre-ordered food for a 70th birthday but only got our food after nearly a 3 hour wait.nnWe had repeatedly asked other servers where our food was and was told it was coming, or being plated but even when it started coming out, there was such a delay between meals that some had been finished.nnNo one who ordered the burger managed to eat it. They were tough, over cooked and burnt. The sides were all wrong; the mozzarella sticks were as hard as batons, the cheesy chips were just chips, and other parts were just wrong or missing.nnWhen we spoke to the owner Kieran he advised with a smirk that it obviously wasn't an issue if we were still going to eat it, and that it's not his problem; he managed the bar not the kitchen. No apology, no acceptance and no ownership.nnAt his insistence we spoke to the chef Sam and he was obviously rushed off his feet, and was very apologetic and looked it but there's only so much sympathy we can have when we pre-ordered so they knew we were coming.nnTo give them merit, Sam did agree to refund some of the cost of our meal but this was only after others in the party complained as their dishes were inedible, and after waiting so long many of the party just left hungry.nnIt's such a shame as we wanted to support our local pub. I've given my review 2 stars because we have gone for just drinks previously without a problem but this occasion ruined what should have been a special meal.
A Family member decided to meet here for a family meal for his 2 year olds birthday. The table was pre booked for 11 people. When we arrived the initial appearance of the place was slightly worrying, then we entered the building to find there was only 2 other people in the pub, drinking only.. However as many had travelled we decided to stay and eat here as planned.nOnce everybody had arrived we asked for menus only to be told they didn't have any and that the food options were written on black boards near the bar..nBy 5.30pm we had placed our orders.nWe were still the only people ordering food in the restaurant.nAt 6.45 the food has still not arrived, the waitress comes out and then says they have no corn on the cob which was ordered as part of the children's meals.n5 minutes later the children's meals finally arrive!nThey asked for ketchup and mayo, only to be told they had run out, but the landlord was going to pop to local shop to get some. Finally the rest of the food started to appear from the kitchen..nThe pork chop was 90% fat,nThe 'Salad' was a handful of wilted lettuce only,nThe baked beans were cold, hard and almost white in colour.!nMyself and one other had orderedn'Flame Grilled' Chicken burger with blue cheese..nThese were the last plates to leave the kitchen after waiting nearly 90 minutes in an empty restaurant..nWhat we received was an oven cooked chicken breast in a soggy bun.nThe outside of the chicken had gone hard, once I had bitten into it I realised it was pink raw in the middle!! As was the other burger ordered.nAfter showing the waitress she spoke to the manager who kindly told us we would not be charged for the burgers!!nnInstead of the manager approaching our table and apologising for the wait, the poor service and awful food, he put all of the pressure on the young lady that was running front of house alone..nShe seemed very embarrassed, upset and flustered after our time at the restaurant. We felt very sorry for the girl.nVery unprofessional from the management..nnSo in Short.nnScruffy initial appearance.nDated, dirty interior.nLack of drinks and condiments.nRidiculous waiting times.nDisgusting , overpriced food.nVery very poor management..nnAVOID !!!
Had dinner and drinks with friends last night. We all had a fab night but the wait for food was very long.nWe were pre advised it would be an hour wait, ended up being close to two.nAlot of people where waiting a long time for their food and you could see all the waiting staff were very busy. That being said the food was lovely, the new team are fab and work very well under pressure and Dana is a credit to you guys.nWe will visit again but please sort out the long wait for food.
Ben and his team provided us with the venue and catering for a wake. From start to finish they were kind and considerate going to great lengths to provide the specification we had requested. The scones jam and cream were delicious. The sandwiches were both delicious and plentiful and well received by all. Highly recommended.
