The Athenaeum has a long and colourful history since it was built in the 1850s - but for the last 15 years this Grade II listed building has been held in Trust as a centre for the people of Warminster, and managed, manned and staffed entirely by a tireless band of volunteers. The Athenaeum plays host to a diverse range of community groups, classes and activities within it's many rooms.
At the heart of the building, the Victorian Auditorium is used by local drama and dance groups, schools and charities, for shows and events, as well as the occasional professional touring company.
The ground floor rooms and auditorium are accessible to wheelchair users.
On the first floor, the bar and main function room are accessible to wheelchair users by way of the lift.
There is curreently no wheelchair access to the Ante room, the Balcony or the Pratten Hall.
We welcome bookings from the community for all parts of the building.
Opening Times : The building is open most days and evenings for community activities, events and classes.
The Box Office, for event bookings and information, is open;
Monday to Saturdays, 10.30 am - 1 pm
(Closed Sundays and Bank Holidays)
