7 of us went here on Saturday evening for dinner. Absolutely brilliant service and food delicious. Exceptionally clean toilets as l dislike scanky skirting boards. Even the pipes under the sinks were shinning. Will definitely make it a regular place to visit. Well done to all your team. Janey Scott Jones
Unfortunately we experienced some very unattentitive waitresses here. We were put on a table out of the way where we were simply forgotten about. We had to get the attention of waitresses every time we needed something. Also forgotten the basics such an condiments on tables. We had to go and collect our own salt and pepper, and ask for water although there were water glasses on the table for instance. We also had an order completely messed up and the waitress showed absolutely no understanding of the situation and tried to laugh it off. Not very professional at all. There was also no vegetarian option for Sunday lunch despite me asking on the phone the day before whilst making the booking. This is normally a good pub but very disappointed with our last experience which was a real shame, especially when paying for a meal out. The one waiter was the only well trained staff member here, he was very good. The food was also very nice but unfortunately completely let down by the poor service of the waitresses.
At the centre of a delightfully olde world village, we enjoyed a very lovely and affordable lunch at the George. Staff and manager were super attentive and atmosphere was great. Highly recommend for Sunday lunch, wedding celebrations and everything in between. Very accommodating of veggies too. Food & drinks: Full restaurant and bar services in quaint surroundings.
One of our favourite pubs to base a dog walk from as it's surrounded by such lovely countryside. Personally I felt it had lost its way over the last 18, months or so. But now, wow! It's back! Based on how full it was with people eating, I suspect other people agree :
Had a light lunch with some hiking friends and our meal was very pleasant. There were 15 of us and the staff managed to get all the meals ready at the same time piping hot after our walk. I would definately go back in the future.Service: 5/5
Lovely english pub in a cute village. The food was delicious. A very nice atmosphere and the service was pretty swift considering the pub was almost completely full at peak lunchtime when I visited.
Visited for my wife's birthday. Quality ingredients, beautifully cooked. Great service and fab atmosphere. I'm definitely going back.
Very nice local village pub, recently renovated and taken over by a new team. Good beer and a very talented chef. I had the venison steak which was excellent and cooked just as I asked.
Cracking pub, beautiful location. Friendly staff and friendly locals using this establishment. I would definitely return when I can. It was a bit of a flying visit and last minute decision but I will return.
Fairly good place for lunch. We stopped in after a long walk in area. Food was okay, could have been warmer. Service was good and friendly
