The pub is under new management. The kitchen has had a full deep clean as has the whole pub. The beer is great and the welcome warm. Lovely garden and plenty of parking. Private room for hire and food will soon be available. Date today is 27th march 2018.

The staff are lovely. Good food. But my nephews and I were playing hide and seek around the pub, in a raucous fashion in all honesty, using all spaces available, and instead of coming to speak to me, the landlord approached my niece (the children's mother) and told her to control her children! If you advertise yourself as a family pub, that is surely not the way to deal with that situation. My family and I will not be going back. We are all incredibly upset and offended as we feel the landlord should have approached me as I was playing with the kids.

Sunday roast potatoes as hard as rocks, chewy meat and overcooked veg. Could have done with a lot more gravy to make it palatable. My husbands meal had a hair in it! A glass of tired wine capped it all off. Toilets needed some urgent cleaning. We wouldn't make a return visit.

Lovely old pub. A proper boozer with excellently kept real ales. Jazz on Thursday afternoons. A stone's throw from Paddock Wood and Tonbridge. Well worth a visit.

With much regret the pub is closed, another bites the dust.
