Saturday lunch top notch! Thank you to Scott and Caitlin for their exceptional service! Made us feel incredibly welcome, selected the best tables in the restaurant and served us fantastic food. Their sense of humour was on point, happily dine at the Vauxhall again based off Scott and Caitlin alone! 10/10 lunch 11/10 service. Cheers
What a wonderful place to eat, we just turned up without booking and the manager was so accommodating and found us a table, the staff were friendly and very helpful, will definitely go back, the food was brilliant and probably one of the best roast we've had out.
We visited as a party of 4 on 9th October for dinner as we were staying at the Premier Inn and I must say what an amazing experience. We have never encountered such fantastic, polite, helpful bunch of staff, all of them were great. Food was exceptional and reasonably priced. Merlot on the wine list would have been an added bonus but we settled for a Cabernet. We was given an ice bucket to take a bottle of white back to our room which was a great touch. The amazing experience continued the following day with breakfast, once again, great staff serving us and fab well cooked selection. WE WILL BE BACK
It was very cold. They did light the fire but we ended up eating in a cold alcove, by the end of the meal we were shivering. Fizzy drinks just way too expensive, nearly as expensive as beer. I ordered a vegan burger, it was so overcooked, rock hard. The waiter was serving too many tables so we didn't get a check back. I had to leave early to get up for work so I waited to get the staff's attention to show them how bad the burger was but nobody came. Eventually i decided to just eat it, when the waiter came I told him it was terrible and thankfully he took it off the bill. Some others enjoyed their meal, others were not too impressed. For the price they charge, the food and service isn't good value. Such a shame because this is a great location for our two families to meet up for birthday dinners. Honestly, for the money it's really not good enough. Not the staffs fault, they were working hard.
Had amazing customer service from James today! The kitchen had just closed but was able to sort me out with some of their amazing squid and awesome chocolate brownie was gone before I could take pictures Now just sitting sipping the pints as they keep coming! Would highly recommend if you are ever in Tonbridge! And the Premier Inn is just round the corner if you are driving and want a drink
Prior to booking, we explored the menu, and it all seemed well. My partner does not eat meat but seemingly plenty of options available. However, on arrival, all fish and vegetarian dishes were unavailable. She made do with soup for the main course. Definitely need to check prior to arrival , just what is and is not available. Don't rely on the menus.
Came for dinner with my family and had a lovely meal I ordered the duck from the specials menu as was recommended by our waitress Caitlin who was very friendly and polite, the atmosphere was lovely as we had some little flowers on our table. Glad we booked in advance as they was fully booked will definitely come back!
A chain pub, so you would never get anything unique, but as chain pubs go this was excellent. Friendly staff, and the food was cooked to perfection. Convenient location by the A21 and a large car park behind the pub, just make sure you put your registration into the tablet by the entrance to make sure you don't get a ticket.
We wanted to book dinner for 6 yesterday evening 26.11.22. we were told the only booking available was at 5.15 in the evening so we reluctantly booked that tine. On arrival we were told to register for parking or risked a £100 fine! Not the best start. Surprisingly the restaurant was empty and the whole evening our table and one other were the only diners. we expected the place to be rammed full. Before our order was taken were told that there were none of the fish dishes available, rather unfortunate as we had 3 vegetarian's in our group. We ordered from the menu that as left. When we came to dessert, like the main menu we were told half the desserts were not available. What we did have was acceptable though the steak pie was half empty. Altogether not a good experience and when we left around 8.30 the restaurant was still empty. Why on a Saturday night is the place empty running up to Christmas, I thought it would be rammed full. D. We were in Kent for an event my husband needed to attend and stayed at the Premier Inn next door for 2 nights. Both evenings we ate at the Vauxhall Inn for convenience...lovely old pub...it's actually part of the Chef and Brewer chain. The menu was pretty much as expected, but was very well cooked and just what was required at reasonable prices. I don't normally write reviews but the service from James was exceptional on both evenings, and he deserves a shout out. Prompt, polite and courteous. Thanks so much
