Friendly pub and restaurant, well placed for walks around the Hadlow area. Had the Sunday carvery, the meat was good but the potatoes and veg were a bit hit and miss, some of it was underdone. Pint of Harvey's Best was in decent condition. Very pleasant garden area with a good sized kids play area. Worth a visit.
Having driven past this pub almost weekly for 2 years I finally had cause to go in and eat. We wanted to do a big dog walk starting at Golden Green but unfortunately all the pubs nearby were full up for Sunday lunch. Our last call was to The Rose Revived and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. I'm vegetarian and had the nut roast for my lunch and they're always a hit or miss; either too dry or completely lacking in flavour. The portion I had here was packed full of cashews, hazelnuts etc and wasn't too dry or lacking in flavour! I even got given a small jug of vegetarian gravy! The help yourself carvery had plenty of choices including red cabbage and roast carrots. I would return here, even on a Sunday when there were lots of children, due to how nice the nut roast was! If you do have children there's plenty of outdoor space for them to run around. Dogs are welcomed inside which is great for dog walkers. Opposite the pub on the other side of the main road is a public footpath that takes you down to the River Medway so after you're left groaning with your tasty Sunday carvery you can walk it off without having to drive to another spot. I would say that more staff are needed behind the bar as there was a long wait to pay after our meal but that was the only issue we had at this pub.
We have been looking for the perfect Sunday carvery for a while now and have tried a few places where the food quality was not great. Today we tried the Rose Revived and we are so happy. The carvery was delicious, really good quality meat, veg, yorkshires and roast potatoes. The service was also lovely. Very reasonable price. Will definitely be returning.
Visited today for dinner with my family and was not disappointed. The pizzas are huge! Excellent value at two for £15 on a Saturday and great service. They didn’t have something that my husband ordered but came out with several alternative options. Very satisfied with the service received. Will definitely be visiting again soon!
We went along to The Rose, Revived for their famous Sunday Carvery. We booked, as we know Sundays get busy. It didn't disapoint. They offered 3 types of meat and I opted for the beef; it was beautifully cooked. Generous portions, friendly and attentive staff, generally a lovely atmosphere. We'll worth a visit if you fancy somewhere thats a bit nicer than a regular pub.
Who the funk has pink roast beef at a carvery! THIS PLACE DOES….. absolutely unreal Sunday roast for £14.. and they do a cheese board. Remember this is the same price as a certain chain carvery restaurant….
I came here for a carvery with my friend. I'm a non meat eater and the veggie options contained garlic which I can't eat . So I had a huge plate of veg and a yorkie. Absolutely delicious. Mid week on a Wednesday!
Very attentive staff, nice surroundings, a good choice of ales. We went for the Thursday steak night, steak cooked perfectly, good portions and well worth the money, we will definitely be going back.
When we first found this pub the carvery was banging. Everything was lovely and hot & the roast potatoes were nice and crispy cooked to perfection. Our 2nd visit was not as pleasant as the spuds were not as great as the first time and service was a bit slow. We thought we would hit it one more time thinking as the 1st time was superb maybe the 2nd visit was just a chef blip. Well I'm sorry to say that the 3rd visit was our final visit. The meats were cold, the veg had been sitting in the same spot under the heat for too long without being ruffled. The spuds were under cooked and the only way to warm up the meal was to drown it in gravy. I'm afraid we gave this carvery enough chances and it just can't perform in a consistent manner with the presentation of food so we won't be visiting again even though I did enjoy a lovely pint of Harveys.
The quality of the food is so variable. We had the carvery, the meat was cooked well, though only two slices. The veg was hit or miss, a lot of over cooked greens. Other dishes were ok.
