Quite simply the best pub lunch I've had. It's a bit off the beaten track but the food is sensational and the service is very friendly and they look after you very well. Good local beer and the odd foreign one too. Well worth a visit and we are already looking forward to going back.
A very old over 400 years isolated but popular village pub that has deservedly overcome recent threat of closure. Saved by local passion and now a renowned destination. Originally The George and Dragon until recently, it has a good selection of beers, excellent food and friendly staff. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Accompanied by a nearby 12th century Saxon church.
Very appealing looking place, which was heaving outside on a cold winters day including Morris dancing and I feared we'd made a poor choice, but upon entering it was calm, friendly, cosy and welcoming. Staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and chatty without being too informal. Would happily return.
Lovely little gastro pub, beautifully located in the picturesque village of Burpham. Food is generally excellent however was a tad disappointed with the 18gbp burger, which in my humble opinion was quite over priced for what it was. Staff is very friendly and the vibes are cosy.
This was just fabulous! We will be dreaming of the sticky toffee pudding and the baked cheese cake for a long long time.
Awesome quality food, beautifully presented, with courteous, friendly staff. Added bonus, it's dog friendly! Off the beaten track but a great stopping place for walkers
Lovely staff great service and a dog friendly atmosphere. Really nice pub. Project camper definitely approved.
We had an absolutely delicious dinner on Friday evening. Pub looked amazing with fire a blazing. The chef who was charming took time out to talk to us and other customers and alongside him his colleagues were pleasantly efficient. Highly recommend this superb pub.
A very pleasant surprise. We booked for our anniversary on the strength of two recommendations on Facebook and we were most definitely not disappointed. The pub is in one of the prettiest chocolate box villages I have ever seen, and the setting with the sun yes, it came out! getting low, was idyllic. Greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in, the staff were organised, efficient, professional and friendly, and very Covid aware. The food came quickly, was presented beautifully, and tasted delicious. We had a very good bottle of Chilean red to accompany our various dishes. The desserts did themselves justice too. Will definitely return and recommend strongly.
Went for a family meal to celebrate a birthday. The pub was very busy on a Saturday lunchtime but service was excellent. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. Food was very good and all the party enjoyed their meals. We will definitely visit again.
