Thought it was great. Went there for mother's Day. Decent food, prices okay. Dessert was especially nice. Staff friendly and attentive. Open fire. Great stuff!

This pub is a great spot for those looking to avoid the tourists. Filled with locals, the food is great with a delicious cocktail selection. If the weather suits, the outdoor patio is perfect for enjoying drinks with friends! Highly recommended.

What an amazing venue. We have been here a few time and always find a new reason to love the place. We booked a Sunday lunch on New years eve, they had space for 3 people (2 adults and a child). There is a small car park at the back of the venue but if you do not time it right, it can be difficult with parking - you might be walking back 5 minutes or so. The village is lovely, a stream and small walk is well deserved after lunch. We slipped starters and went straight on for the main event - a delicious roast beef with all the trimmings - I paid extra for cauliflower cheese. That could have been a bit cheesier but then I greedy. I also had a delicious dessert too. It'd a favourite of mine and continues to be - just book it.

Lovely place in a quiet area. Smartly decorated with a homely log fire. The waiting staff were polite and reasonably attentive but a little slow at times. Food was without fault though - obviously made freshly too order and extremely tasty! Beers were also well kept. I would definitely return! Our toddler also had a quick go on the climbing frame and we saw that the outside seating area looked very pleasant.

Great food, finest ales and an extensive selection of fine wines. A great choice for the discerning patron. Combine this with friendly staff and a beautiful period building, the G&D is a must anytime I am in the area.
