1st visit. If you are parking make sure you log your car details near the bar on the iPad. Staff were friendly. I thought the food quantity was less. With the veg lasagne there was only a side salad. Think portion size is less. Another meal was the steak. Again for was paid, it could have been better.nAlso had a pudding. One with ice cream, other with custard. The apple pie was cold. Custard was warm but not hot. Ice cream 1 small scoop. Feel there was a let down. There was no check back to ask if all was ok.
We've been to the Gate several times since we moved to the area over a year ago. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious. The volume of music is always low, so you can hear what people in your group are saying. This is definitely a plus! It's a good size pub as well, with plenty of seats. Would definitely recommend!
We had a great night! Ages from 9 to 90 years old. Perfect family venue and we will 100% be back soon. Staff were great, and very funny as well as accommodating. Couldn't ask for more for our sunday evening. Thanks to all the team!!
Pub lunch with mum....This pub is an absolute standout! It offers a cosy atmosphere with warm, low to moderate lighting that enhances the ambiance. The staff and patrons are friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The food is well-presented, delicious, and reasonably priced. The service of food was really swift. Despite the pub being busy, the bartender took the time to recommend a beer and assist us in finding a table that suited our preferences. I would highly recommend this pub and will definitely return. Thank you
Absolutely guaranteed good time at The Gate.nThe staff couldn't be more attentive, nothing is too much! Fran and team project such an attractive vibe. The Log fire roaring as it rains outside just amplifies the ambience. I must note that on this occasion that Lisa, Sarah and Lexi made this evening even more enjoyable. Genuine smiles and humour. Massive credit to you all.
