Came to this pub on a Tuesday evening to celebrate my partners birthday when staying at an airbnb close by. The pub section of the place was bustling and the restaurant section was nicely full. For a Tuesday evening we felt lucky to find this kind of atmosphere in a small town. Even though the restaurant was busy, the service was not lacking. Everyone who served us was lovely. The food was delicious too, i had the chicken parmigiana and my partner the pie of the day. I will say both had a large quantity of fresh rosemary. This wasn’t a huge problem for us as we enjoy the herb but i’m aware quite a few people don’t so could be a good thing to note before ordering. All in all, this is a great gastropub. Hope to be back soon!
Great vibe and buzz to atmosphere in low wooden beam ceiling interior. Staff young and vibrant, delightful in manner and attitude.nWas very busy but once served drinks came quickly and obviously stored at perfect temperature as lagers and bitter tasted better than most pubs.nLarge varied and distinctly different twist on some traditional dishes. There were several of us and all meals were excellent!nDesserts were very different with tweaks and interpretations done well. Had several ice creams never seen before and some great unusual waffles!
Came here last weekend with my family for Sunday lunch which was great, as it was bank holiday.nWhen I walked in there were two staff at the welcome desk and for some reason they just disappeared and left us waiting for a few minutes which I thought was quite bizarre, but oh well. Then again, bizarrely, the lady that showed to our table brought only three menus for five people which she could see in our group. The same thing happened when the dessert menus were handed out, again three menus.nThe food was lovely, and very generous portions, couldn’t really fault it and we even took some of it home. The banana waffle dessert was lovely, as was the triple chocolate cake.nWould recommend and come back, but would just hope they give everyone their own menu without having to ask for extra! Really recommend the frickles too.nWas really busy as you can imagine for a bank holiday weekend, but it only added to the atmosphere.
Visited The Feathers for the first time a couple of days ago. I've been hearing amazing things about this place from friends and family members for years but had not managed to visit. It is an absolutely stunning historic pub in the centre of Rickmansworth. There is a lovely beer garden to the rear which was perfect for soaking up the sun. We came in for a few drinks and a snack. I ate the Chicken Liver and Cognac Pate £7.90 which was absolutely delicious and perfect with a cold drink on a Summer's day. I hope to be back to visit again very soon!
Such a lovely place to spend an evening celebrating my birthday. The staff were so accommodating when I discovered I had booked for the wrong evening! The food was great difficult to choose what to have and all served piping hot. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommend.
