Lovely hotel/pub with rooms. Only stayed briefly as working late night and early morning so I missed eating there, but the menu looked good. Room was lovely and clean. Staff attentive and friendly. Lovely hot shower. Plenty of free parking and a good location to head into Huddersfield.Rooms: 5/5
Our room was very clean and comfortable. And the staff were very lovely and friendly! We were visiting a friend in Kirkburton we hadn't seen for many years as we live in New Zealand and he had asked to leave a rubber duck in our room on arrival related to an old, funny story, which the staff arranged and caused us all a lot of hilarity! Lovely place; would definitely recommend. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so memorable :-
Your staff are all excellent, very friendly and welcoming. We had dinner at the pub and breakfast in the morning which were both delicious. Only negative we had was that we both found the bed uncomfortable, but we accept that is personal choice, I’m sure other people find it comfortable. The room and facilities were excellent and very clean and fresh.
Originally booked from 19 to 21 Sep - for the business trip. You have not honoured, her majesty Queen Elizabeth II funeral and did not provide the refund nor you have offered me a voucher for the other day. Many found this disrespectful. Even none refundable train ticket was refunded. I found the hotel comfortable and would like to use it again as I go to the same area 5 night a month. Room 5 however need new coat of paint as wall was splattered with many stain!
I stay regularly when up on business. I always get a lovely welcome and the staff are always very helpful in accommodating requests for things like an ironing board etc. The pub is a lovely cosy place to curl up with a book after a busy, working day and the food is good. Best of all though is breakfast. Shanane is a total superstar and always goes the extra mile to ensure my stay is a good one. Superb customer service.
Lovely welcome, great service, large and comfortable room. Great bed and shower. Quiet location. I tried to ring to arrange early checkin but I couldn’t get an answer. Fully recommend.
Food was ok, nothing outstanding, service was just ok except our waitress was very pleasant. Rooms were not a bad size but the bed was like rocks and the shower, you had to run around to get wet! Not a place I'd return to. Also smells from other rooms permeated through to my room. Not pleasant!!!Rooms: 3/5
Great Comfy bed, good tea and coffee facilities, WiFi quality, restaurant and breakfast, plenty of parking space Improve Felt bathroom could have been cleaned better - the trim above and below tiles in the bathroom were dirty.
The location, food and look of the room was great, however, we were disappointed with the mattress. It was very hard and we struggled to sleep. We have a firm, orthopedic mattress at home due to me having a spinal cord injury but the mattress at the lodge was so much more firm. I've never come across a mattress like it. I wouldn't be one to complain however I really didn't sleep well at all, and neither did my husband. He said it was like sleeping on bricks! I had so many aches and pains in the morning and was so exhausted after tossing and turning all night, trying to sleep. Another issue we had was hat the people in room 9 had the TV on until 4am! At first I thought someone was shouting but then I realised it was the TV, which is located an the same wall as our rooms headboard. All in all we really didn't have a good night. It is the 3rd yime we have stayed and have thoroughly enjoyed it on previous visits however we won't be staying again
Everything was tidy enough and staff etc OK but the room smelt absolutely horrendous. We picked keys up and went to families for Christmas so didn't get in the room until near midnight, had it been earlier I honestly would have left it smelt so badly of sewage/dog
