Great atmosphere and service. Waitress was very helpful with regard to alternatives on food that I could not eat offering alternate garnish. Food was excellent and tasty. We found the service appropriately not rushed but not inappropriately slow either.

Nice atmosphere, welcoming staff, good food - highlight for us was the separate dairy-menu which is such an unusual feature and included a proper dessert not just sorbet & fruit salad ;-) It's not a cheap area to eat out but it's not exorbitant. And the village is charming - surprisingly close to the A1 & Letchworth but you'd never know from the little green and village pond :-)

The food was well prepared and staff very professional. I liked it but I did not love it. Perhaps the tables located in the conservatory were not the cosiest at this time of year? An open fire would liven up the place nicely.

We are regular visitors to The Fox and usually love our experience. Unfortunately there were several 'small' things on this visit which really took the edge of our usual enjoyment. For example, two of us ordered mussels which came with no plate to put the shells on and no finger bowls to rinse off our fingers. Once we pointed this out this was rectified quite promptly. Petit fours did not come with the coffee, we queried whether they had stopped doing it but these had also been forgotten so we received them after we had had our coffee. However, we will return as this was an unusual lapse in service.

Another lovely experience. Great food - quality produce, tasty, beautifully combined and presented. Friendly staff and relaxing ambiance. Thank you The Fox, Willian, Herts.
