We have been to Wildwood several times. The food is very good and the choices nicely varied but not overwhelming. The atmosphere is friendly and we have never been pressured to order or leave after eating. The staff are excellent and always on hand when needed. We have been as a family and as a couple and it works nicely for both. On one occasion the Director of Wildwoods operations was visiting the Letchworth site and working in the restaurant. She sat with us while we had a really good conversation about how the service was being provided and how things could be improved. That shows the sort of commitment from senior staff to getting it right for customers, which isn't seen often enough. A thoroughly excellent eating out experience.

So there I was, securely fastening my tent to my meticulously packed bag. I raised my sunglasses onto the top of my head to better see the maps application on my phone. After plugging in the location, I nodded, cooly allowing my aviators to fall back into place, giving the full effect of an adventurer on a mission. I was ready to hear the crinkle of fallen leaves under foot, the fresh winds scrape against trees and refreshingly envelope me as it raced past. To hunt and prepare a delicious feast in a wild wood. What I found when I arrived was severely disappointing. I was huddled inside with a group of other lost explorers. I was forced to order from a menu which lacked any kind of excitement. The only peril I encountered was the foul language emitted from the kitchen staff. I had brought a handy survival pack. Inside was an array of beverages aimed at keeping the body in tip-top condition to be prepared for any attack it may face. Unfortunately, I was unable to overcome the head-on- attack from the Keeper of the Woods - or 'waitress' as she kept correcting me - as it is against their policy to drink anything from the outside worlds. I did not get what I bargained for here. This was not what I had imagined. I shall need more preparation for my next endeavour.

Very friendly & professional staff. Really good choice of dishes, well seasoned & great presentation. You are not crammed in & have plenty of space & not noisy. Excellent value for money. Best restaurant in Letchworth.

Had a really enjoyable evening meal. Staff were attentive and friendly. Food was tasty. Good atmosphere and décor.

Didn't have the best of times here. Booked at 6.15, as we had cinema tickets at 8.15. When it got to 7.15 the starter plates had not been cleared. We politely told the staff that we need to be done by 8. Half an hour latter we received our main course , or some of it. My steak sat there for 15 mins before they brought the sauce and fries, despite reminding the staff twice. The sweet potato wedges didn't arrive at all, and they even had the ordasity to try and charge us for them. Not a great first experience. Staff were friendly but not on the ball at all. Shame!
