Lovely place and people. Live music in upstairs hall. Fab night in lovely old hotel.Service: 5/5
Re-opened after Xmas with new staff. An amazing village pub serving great food and a fantastic selection of ales and lagers. Food & drinks: Fantastic varied menu in a beautiful village pub. Great selection of beers, wonderful staff and a vibrant village vibe.
Under new management this place is really fantastic. Very welcoming staff, nice atmosphere. We ate there on a Saturday afternoon. Great atmosphere, music playing and most importantly: incredible food. Portions are generous and there is absolutely no compromise on quality. I had the open top "fish finger sandwich" which is hands down the best pub served fish and chips I've ever had! Nice work guys!
A varied menu with a chef not afraid to try new things. The dishes feel very uptown date and something you would find in high end restaurants rather than a local pub which I think is great. The portions are still what you would expect from a pub but they are refined and well presented. The new chef, who I was not surprised to find specialises in pastry excelled herself with the brownie dessert I had. Innovative, delicious and beautiful to look at. My meal was only let down by the very cheap catering condiments that I was provided with my meal. I felt it was out if step with the overall quality of the food and slightly undermined what they are trying to achieve with their new menu and food style. The outside seating area could also use some work as it's pretty drab. I'm sure some of these issues will be ironed out in the future and I would like to go back and see how its changed.
Went for their steak night on a Wednesday & there was nothing to fault. Generous steak, cooked exactly to our requirements with a gorgeous bottle of wine for £25 cannot be faulted! Of course we had to finish with dessert, the sticky toffee pudding & chocolate brownie I would highly recommend!
Fantastic Sunday meal best ever.Service: 5/5
A great location and a nice pub generally but the hosts are what make this place really special. Amazing hospitality, good selection of drinks and delicious, affordable food - easily the best steak and the best chips I've ever had and I've had plenty!. Friendly locals too. Overall, I can't rate this place highly enough and I wish it were my local.
Fantastic old-feel boozer with colourful locals! Food was superb Sunday lunch with more than generous portions. Great front of house with most welcoming landlord Aaron and a chef with skills to compliment this. On holiday but wish this was our local! Hope to be back!Service: 5/5
Enjoyed a visit with 4 children. Chef accommodated children's needs. Bar staff very friendly and made a fuss if the children, Clean and tidy. The food was amazing, good portion sizes and excellent value for money. We will be back again.Service: 5/5
The pub has recently reopened and is much improved. Had Sunday lunch there last week and it was certainly one of the best I have had in recent years. I hope the young couple are able to make a success of it and should do so if they carry on as they are
