Story

Nestling in a tranquil waterside setting amidst glorious gardens, The Waddesdon Dairy is an enchanting private building on the Waddesdon Estate just outside Aylesbury. The Five Arrows Hotel and Restaurant stands at the gates of Waddesdon Manor with 16 bedrooms of character and charm. The Hotel restaurant offers a varied and exciting menu to suit all tastes, and a wine list that encompasses everyday and rare wines from both New and Old World vineyards.

Both were created for Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild in the 19th Century and for over 100 years were part of the country retreat of the Rothschild family.

A beautiful hotel with a very professional set up and delicious food including good vegetarian options (see picture of the tarte tatin). The rooms were modern, warm and clean with minimal noise disturbance. I look forward to the chance to go here again.

This hotel was my wedding venue and it was perfect. The hotel itself is beautiful, the coach house is a lovely little room and it just looked perfect. Bucks registrars we’re absolutely fantastic and our ceremony was beautiful. 
I LOVED the food and the wine, and all of my guests seemed to as well.
The staff were all great on the day as well as our wedding coordinator Sophie.

We got some beautiful photos at Waddesdon Manor on the day as one of the perks of getting married here is being able to use the grounds of the manor for photos. So special.
Anyone looking for an intimate venue with character- this is the place.

Whilst the setting is very nice, a number of aspects were disappointing. 

The teas and coffees took a very long time to arrive. When they did come, there was no milk - we asked for milk a number of times before it was finally delivered, by which time the teas and coffee were no longer hot.
The hot chocolates were like warm when they arrived.
The scones were nice, as was the clotted cream, and the jam was particularly good (although the supply was limited for the number of scones it should have served.)
The sandwiches were not good at all, the bread being very dry.
When asked how things were, I was politely honest - the response I got was defensive, with excuses about how long it takes to serve a large party (of 12... when they'd had several weeks' notice.)
Surly and grudging service of variable quality food, at a pretty steep price.
We were not happy.
