I recently got married at Horwood House, the whole staff were exceptionally professional and did everything they could to look after all of out guests. Decent rooms, mattresses were quite soft. Restaurant is pretty good for such a large hotel. Good bar staff

Absolutely brilliant experience can't wait to go again. Staff very helpful, restaurant good food good/ service very good. Rooms very clean and comfortable nice bathroom. Grounds and the house incredible . Plus I have mobility difficulties which was not a problem- ramps lift etc. From our experience the hotel deserves a higher rating.

Stayed here for my first wedding anniversary and found everything just as perfect as when we had our wedding here. The staff were completely amazing, food was exquisite and the room was clean and very comfortable. Can nit recommend Horwood House enough. I love it here

A beautiful countryside mansion, you can feel the history and you walk through the old building. There is an superb attention to detail, from the crafted wooden fixtures and decorations to the facilities available in the rooms. Not to mention the number of bars, restaurants and games rooms spread between the old building and the newly built extension. By far, the best hotel I have ever stayed in...I only wish I had stayed longer!!

Recently attended a wedding at this venue. Very mixed feelings. Originally the booking of the room was awful! I never received confirmation and it took 4 attempts at contacting the hotel to get this. Staff who I spoke to on 2 occasions on the phone were extremely unhelpful and rude. On attending we were presently surprised as the venue from the outside is beautiful... the lady at Reception who checked us in was great, very helpful and amazing with the kids. The room however was vile, I was expecting something elegant for the price we paid, it was filthy, tiny, and simply a health hazard... the bathroom had cracked tiles, missing silicon around the bath and I felt like I was in a public toilet. Of course we mentioned this but unfortunately there were no rooms available to swap us. The room was in such a disgusting state, we decided not to stay and cut the evening celebrations short, pack our things and drive all the way home. Another family member attending the wedding had requested a disabled room, however it was not suitable for someone who cannot walk- not to mention the lift was broken!! Luckily another wedding guest offered to swap their ground floor room- which still had stairs, but manageable. The staff arranging the wedding were rude to the guests as well as the bride and groom, and the food was not to standard, very few people finished their meals. Very dissapointed with this. Luckily the wedding was a success and a lively atmosphere. The hotel however, makes the travel lodge look 5 star.
