My wife and I stayed here for one evening, and we had the most terrific time. The rooms were very charming, clean, and comfortable. The pub was terrific fun, and the food was amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this establishment. Ruby and James at the pub took very good care of us in the evening, and George was a terrific host in the morning. We had an incredible time. Everyone was so friendly, and the ambiance was exactly what we were looking for. We were visiting from Canada but I really hope we will be able to make it back there some day.
As they say, location, location, location.... and the Dundas Arms certainly has that! It's location is absolutely perfect.nnEasy to find next to the canal, with small streams abound, and lots of walking and fishing opportunities on the doorstep.nnThe staff were all wonderful. We were met with big smiles and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in a riverside room which was very pretty, although the bathroom was a little tired - I understand the rooms are having a face-lift later this year so that hopefully is included.nnThe pub/restaurant closes on 1st June for a refurbishment of the bar and restsurant areas, which I've no doubt will make this place sing. That being said, during our stay the food dinner and breakfast was delicious and a great wine list with something for everyone.nnExcited to revisit once the upgrades have been made and this pub has been sprinkled with a little of the Butcombe magic.
We took my parents for lunch at The Dundas Arms and it was lovely. From the first person we spoke to, everyone was polite, friendly and so helpful. We faffed about with our table location and they changed it without hesitation, they even happily stepped over our dog who had decided to lie in the way and offered to get him a water bowl! The food was delicious and really well presented. Overall a lovely experience. Not our first time here and won’t be our last!
We had a fabulous stay with friends this weekend. Some of the decor was a bit tired and the windows could do with a lick of paint!, but we received a lovely welcome, and were beautifully looked after throughout. Dinner and breakfast were delicious as expected, after another Butcombe visit last year, and the rooms were very well appointed. We now plan our golf weekends around your locations - excellent value! Thank you
Met a friend half way for brunch having stumbled across the Dundas Arms on google maps. It was a real treat. Excellent food and the waitress went out of her way to make an iced coffee. She also recommended a lovely walk along the canal and through the village which we did as well. Am contemplating on returning for a Sunday roast.
