The Duncombe Arms is a beautiful, traditional country pub situated at the heart of the lovely rural village of Ellastone on the Staffordshire / Derbyshire border. Located on the edge of the Peak District near the towns of Ashbourne and Uttoxeter it is a great place to visit providing a delightful setting in which to enjoy a drink, some lovely food from our bar and restaurant menus, as well as a chat with friends or family.

Great food. Only small selection meaning you know it is cooked fresh. We paid over £110 for meal for 2 but well worth it. Will definitely go again.

Fantastic food! Stopped off last minute after another pub we were going to was closed at lunch. They have a great a la carte menu as well as a two/three course fixed price menu and specials.

Lovely British food including decent vegetarian options. Have been several times. Usually two of three courses "excellent" and one "average". Always busy and good atmosphere - a happy comfortable relaxed place to eat. Excellent selection of wine by the glass, although not cheap.

Fantastic pub. Charming staff, delicious food (the best chicken and ham hock pie I’ve ever had!), great wine list. High quality but cosy, comfortable and casual. Beautiful private dining room, perfect for a nice long lunch too.

The food at the Arms is always well cooked and presented and the Duncombe Ale and service is fabulous with a good atmosphere. However the menu is short, very very expensive for the plates and meat cuts served, and you leave feeling the meal does not reflect the size the bill. An very occasional place rather than a regular stop.
